Over the years, the Wine Center has evolved from a simple regional tasting room into a highly sought-out destination for wine lovers from all over the world. The celebration also aligns with the recent national launch of the Paso Robles Wine Month campaign, which commenced on May 1. In a bid to enhance guest experiences, the Lohr family undertook a significant renovation of the Wine Center in 2022, revitalizing Jerry Lohr's original vision for the space. Previously designed as a turn-of-the-century industrial schoolhouse, the redesign aimed to elevate the visitor experience from standing, counter-based tastings to seated tastings with dedicated tableside service, guided by knowledgeable wine educators. This transformative space now features digital storytelling displays, a club-focused Tasting Salon with a fireplace, private VIP areas, and an expansive terrace showcasing the demonstration vineyard. Elements throughout the design reflect Jerry Lohr's roots in South Dakota, utilizing traditional wainscoting, natural materials, abundant lighting, and a wrap-around covered veranda.

The renovation spurred a strategic evolution in J. Lohr's hospitality model, enabling deeper guest engagement and an enriched, personalized tasting journey. As a result of these enhancements, there has been a reported increase of over 70% in wine average order value, alongside a nearly 45% boost in purchase conversion compared to the earlier standing counter-tasting approach.

Nestled within J. Lohr's broader Paso Robles campus, today’s Wine Center epitomizes the company’s enduring commitment to excellence in winemaking, sustainability, education, and hospitality. The venue encompasses Certified California Sustainable estate vineyards, a 3-acre solar tracking array, and the largest winery operated by J. Lohr, reinforcing its vertically integrated strategy focused on delivering superior quality, from vineyard to glass.
