SINEXCEL's Innovative Energy Storage Project in Romania
Overview
SINEXCEL has announced a groundbreaking initiative involving a battery energy storage system in Romania, capable of delivering 7.5 MW/15.04 MWh of energy. This project reflects the company's strategic expansion into European markets, aiming to improve energy trading flexibility and operational efficiency.
Project Details
Located at coordinates 45°02'58.6" N, 24°15'09.4" E, the energy storage system is pivotal for price arbitrage. It not only optimizes energy trading strategies but also enhances grid responsiveness and operational capacity. Central to this system are SINEXCEL's advanced Power Conversion Systems (PCS), designed to maximize energy value through versatile adaptability.
The PCS operates at 1,250 kW and provides a high level of efficiency and flexible integration, ensuring optimized performance and a stronger economic outlook for the project. Furthermore, the PCS supports multiple configurations of medium-voltage substations, including:
- - 6-meter medium-voltage substation: 2.5 MW/3.15 MW
- - 12-meter medium-voltage substation: 5 MW/6.25 MW
- - 12-meter medium-voltage substation: up to 9.45 MW/10 MW
Such scalability allows developers to effectively increase capacity while minimizing installation complexity and lifecycle costs.
A Trusted Global Partner
Developed by Energy Solar NRG SRL, the project successfully secured risk-free financing from DHB bank in February 2025. Full operational commencement is slated for September 30, 2026. This timeline underscores the reliability of SINEXCEL's PCS technology for utility-scale applications.
With over 5,000 installations globally and an installed capacity exceeding 15 GW/40 GWh, SINEXCEL continues to be a trusted ally for developers seeking dependable and effective energy storage solutions. This project reaffirms the company's commitment to a more resilient, sustainable, and economically viable energy future.
