Xsym and JR West Collaboration for Disaster Preparedness

Xsym Co., Ltd. has announced its selection for the business co-creation project "Bernal" by the JR West Group. This initiative focuses on addressing societal and regional challenges through innovative technologies. As Japan faces issues such as population decline and an aging society, JR West aims to enhance railway safety and promote community development through a digital strategy that offers diverse services. The project is part of the Group's long-term vision for 2032 and mid-term management plan for 2025, which emphasizes the creation of value in the Kansai metropolitan area post-Osaka Expo.

In collaboration with JR West, Xsym will integrate its advanced computer vision and robotics technology with the Group’s substantial expertise related to safety and security. The goal is to enhance the connections between people, communities, and society, and to develop technologies that help prepare for disasters and crises. Ultimately, the partnership aims to support remote monitoring across sectors such as transportation, electricity, production facilities, and plants, contributing to economic security in the process.

Following discussions with JR West, specific themes will be explored including:

"Bernal" is a business co-creation program by the JR West Group designed to partner with startups that aspire to solve societal and regional issues. Through this initiative, collaboration is encouraged to help startups scale quickly by leveraging JR West Group's management resources while developing joint business ventures that combine the assets and capabilities of both parties.
