Wellness Park Tokyo: A Fitness Extravaganza
This Golden Week, from April 24th to May 10th, 2026, Meiji Park in Tokyo will transform into a vibrant hub for fitness enthusiasts. Co-hosted by the Tokyo Legacy Parks consortium, which includes Tokyo Tatemono Co., Ltd., Mitsui & Co., Japan Engineering Consultants, Seibu Landscaping, Yomiuri Advertising, and NTV Axon, the event promises exciting activities that will enhance the wellness of Tokyo residents.
The highlight of the event will be the introduction of HYROX, a fitness competition that combines fitness with aerobic exercise, creating a unique workout experience. Attendees will have the chance to participate in a specialized HYROX training program, experience the popular new racket sport, pickleball, and get involved with community running programs facilitated by the Runner's Park Tokyo.
HYROX Training Program
Attendees can dive into the world of HYROX with its specially designed training sessions held in the great outdoors of Meiji Park. This program will allow participants to experience outdoor workouts, combining running with an eight-event workout typically performed during the HYROX competitions. It's designed for everyone, whether you're an experienced athlete aiming for competition or a newcomer eager to try something new.
The program will include various classes:
- - Beginner Class: Perfect for those who are new to HYROX, this class includes a 25-minute explanation and a 65-minute workout, focusing on the rules and equipment.
- - Open Class: Designed for those familiar with HYROX, this 80-minute workout session will follow a structure similar to competition conditions.
- - Special Class: This unique class will include social interactions at a café, and feature themed sessions for women and couples, inviting special guests to join the challenge.
The HYROX training program is led by the recognized HYROX Performance Coach, Masaru Ishikawa, ensuring that both beginners and seasoned athletes have a rewarding experience.
Pickleball at Meiji Park
In addition to HYROX, event-goers can explore pickleball, a game that is rapidly gaining popularity across the United States. It provides a fun environment for participants of all ages and skill levels to engage in this exhilarating sport. Special pickleball courts will be set up in the park zone, offering a fantastic opportunity to play in a scenic, green environment. To ensure safety, the event organizers will provide necessary measures for all players.
Court Fees for Pickleball:
- - Weekdays: 6,000 yen (07:00-17:00), 7,000 yen (17:00-20:00)
