Edward Jones Expands Offerings with 53 New Separately Managed Accounts
In a significant move to expand its advisory services, Edward Jones has announced the addition of 53 new separately managed accounts (SMAs) to its managed account platform. This development represents a nearly doubling of SMA offerings in just the first half of 2025, underlining the firm's commitment to providing enhanced investment solutions tailored to the diverse needs of clients.
Enhancing Advisory Solutions
Since its initial introduction of SMAs in 2011, Edward Jones has continuously evolved its product offerings to better align with client goals. This year, the firm aims to nearly triple its available strategies by year-end, particularly through its Edward Jones Advisory Solutions® Unified Managed Account (UMA) Models advisory program. This program not only includes a broad range of investment styles but also integrates innovative features such as direct indexing and ongoing tax management capabilities.
"We believe in supporting choice for our financial advisors and clients," stated Russ Tipper, Principal and Head of Products at Edward Jones. The firm is focused on introducing flexible, customizable investment options that can meet various financial goals, enhancing overall client choice and engagement.
Unique Features of the UMA Platform
One of the most notable aspects of the UMA platform is its integration of direct indexing capabilities, offered since 2020. As part of the latest expansion, Edward Jones now features eight Direct Indexing SMAs spanning different asset classes and investment approaches. These allow clients to create tailored portfolios by combining active and passive investing strategies within a single account.
"This innovation means clients can select from expertly curated research models or construct fully customized portfolios that blend diverse SMAs seamlessly, all while benefiting from automatic rebalancing and coordinated tax management strategies," Tipper elaborated. This comprehensive approach not only enhances personalization but also empowers clients to achieve their financial objectives more effectively and confidently.
Comprehensive Portfolio Management
By consolidating various SMAs and eligible investments, such as mutual funds, ETFs, and even alternative investments, Edward Jones facilitates access to a diversified portfolio managed by professionals. This integration empowers clients to leverage robust investment management, ensuring they can achieve a well-rounded approach to their financial planning.
Clients participating in the Advisory Solutions UMA Models program will not face additional charges to access these newly introduced SMAs; however, standard asset-based advisory fees and platform fees will apply along with underlying managerial costs.
