DLE's New Anime: Hiroshi Nohara's Lunchtime Virtues

DLE, a dynamic company based in Chiyoda, Tokyo, is thrilled to announce its latest project, the alternative anime titled 'Hiroshi Nohara's Lunchtime Virtues'. This exciting new series will mark a fresh direction in the beloved Crayon Shin-chan universe, featuring an original character named Akita Takagi, who will be voiced by renowned actor Mahiro Takasugi.

About the Cast

Mahiro Takasugi made his acting debut in 2009 and gained widespread recognition for his role in Kamen Rider Gaim as Mitsuhiro Kujima (Kamen Rider Ryugen). Known for his versatile acting skills, he continues to engage audiences in various popular projects.

In Hiroshi Nohara's Lunchtime Virtues, Takasugi will portray Akita Takagi, a bright and cheerful 22-year-old character. Akita is a culinary enthusiast with an impressive following of 4,000 on his gourmet social media account, highlighting his passion for food that rivals Hiroshi’s own. This unique character promises to bring a delightful addition to the show.

Mahiro Takasugi's Thoughts

Expressing his enthusiasm for the role, Takasugi shared his thoughts:

“I always hoped to be involved in some way with the Crayon Shin-chan series. To be able to lend my voice to an original character in this new spin-off is incredibly exciting for me.”

Takasugi noted the positive traits of Akita, which made performing the character fulfilling. Despite his initial skepticism about the character's overly “nice” demeanor, he soon embraced Akita's genuine nature.

“As I performed, I realized this is who Akita really is. It was a joy to see Hiroshi's world from a different angle, and I'm proud to be a part of it. I believe audiences will admire Hiroshi’s dedication to his meals and his determination in the workplace. I hope you look forward to it!”

More Characters to Come

Alongside Akita, the anime introduces a supporting character named Kawaguchi, voiced by Takuya Masumoto. Kawaguchi is portrayed as a brilliant but shrewd junior who enjoys expensive meals when dining with Hiroshi. Furthermore, the character of Haruka Shigisaki, a self-conscious university student working part-time at a restaurant, will be voiced by Kayo Ichinose.

What is 'Hiroshi Nohara's Lunchtime Virtues'?

This new series functions as an official spin-off of Crayon Shin-chan, focusing on the daily lunchtime experiences of Hiroshi Nohara, Shinnosuke’s father. It is based on the manga created by Yoichi Tsukahara, which delves into various lunchtime adventures. The anime is set to air on BS Asahi starting October 3, 2025, at 11 PM.

The launch of Hiroshi Nohara's Lunchtime Virtues marks the first project of DLE’s Alternative Anime initiative.
