Supporting Disaster-Affected Areas: Optimized Nutrition Food Association Helps Noto Peninsula

Optimized Nutrition Food Association Extends Support to Earthquake Victims in Noto Peninsula

On April 21, 2025, the Japan Optimized Nutrition Food Association, led by Director Hiroshi Ito, delivered approximately 20,000 optimized nutrition meals to Anamizu Town, an area affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake.

Ensuring a balanced diet can be challenging during regular circumstances, and this becomes even more critical during emergencies where access to food is limited. As the evacuation process in disaster-affected regions extends, there’s an increased concern about nutritional deficiencies among the victims. To address these needs, the association partnered with the Anamizu Town government to store the provided meals as emergency food supplies in various evacuation shelters.

These meals are not just crucial for survival; they play a vital role in supporting local activities, including disaster preparedness training among community associations and educational programs in primary and junior high schools. The cooperation of local authorities has been instrumental in this initiative.

In addition, between February and March 2025, a survey was conducted with the help of the Anamizu Town government to understand the dietary needs of those living in evacuation situations. The survey revealed that the primary concern for evacuees was maintaining a balanced nutrition regimen. Flavor and variety in food choices emerged as other critical factors contributing to their well-being during such challenging times.

Moving forward, the Japan Optimized Nutrition Food Association has pledged to continuously provide nutritious meals with a variety of options for individuals and families in need of food support. The organization emphasizes collaboration with government bodies, municipalities, and various support groups to enhance their outreach and service effectiveness.

In this moment of hardship, heartfelt condolences are extended to all affected individuals and their families, along with wishes for rapid recovery and revitalization of the disaster-stricken areas.
