Innovative BootCamp Unites Japanese and Asian Students for Startup Success

Overview of the Upcoming BootCamp

In a bid to cultivate the next generation of global entrepreneurs, TIMEWELL, in collaboration with EMC GLOBAL and Underdogs, is set to host an innovative BootCamp in Tokyo from February 2 to February 4, 2026. This intensive three-day program will welcome nine students from five Asian countries—India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand—as well as twelve selected students from Japan. The aim of this BootCamp is to provide participants with the essential skills and experiences needed to take their first steps towards global entrepreneurship.

Rationale Behind the Initiative

The BootCamp aligns with EMC GLOBAL's mission to create opportunities for Japanese students to engage in global entrepreneurship. It is geared towards those willing to step out of their comfort zones and seeks to provide invaluable learning experiences that are not typically available in conventional educational settings. Participants will collaborate closely with their peers from diverse backgrounds to enhance their business acumen and work towards entrepreneurial ventures.

As part of the BootCamp, participants will also have the exclusive chance to showcase their startups at the upcoming TAKEOFF Tokyo event, scheduled for March 31, 2026, and possibly at SusHiTech Tokyo on April 27-28, 2026.

Features of the BootCamp

1. International Collaboration
- The program will bring together 21 students representing Japan and five other Asian countries. During three intensive days of shared meals and teamwork, participants will immerse themselves in the startup culture, working collaboratively on business challenges.

2. Accelerated Learning Process
- Conducted entirely in English, the BootCamp will cover a comprehensive curriculum: from defining business issues and developing a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) to user validation and delivering a global pitch on the final day. Each day has specific focuses:
- Day 1: Problem Definition and Customer Profiling
- Day 2: MVP Development and User Testing
- Day 3: The Global Pitch and Feedback Session
- This structured yet fast-paced approach will provide each participant with significant growth through real-world problem-solving experiences.

3. World-Class Instructors
- Participants will benefit from guidance by leading figures in the entrepreneurship field, including:
- Yoichi Ito: Dean of the School of Entrepreneurship at Musashino University.
- Ikki Hiraishi: Serial entrepreneur and CEO of Go Global Catalyst.
- Other faculty from startup support entities like Underdogs from Korea.

4. Selective Admission
- Twelve students from within Japan will be chosen, ensuring that only the most motivated and driven individuals will attend this exclusive program aimed at fostering genuine global challengers.
