Pure DC Seals Europe's Largest Standalone Data Centre Lease for 2025
Pure Data Centres Group (Pure DC), a prominent player in the realm of hyperscale cloud and AI data centre development, has made headlines with its recent announcement of securing the largest standalone data centre lease in Europe for the year 2025. Located in Westpoort, Amsterdam, this monumental lease agreement involves a hyperscale customer leasing an entire campus with a capacity of 78 megawatts (MW). Designated as AMS01, the data centre will feature three towering structures standing 85 metres tall, all powered by the dedicated private substation connected to the 50kV grid. Each tower will house data halls designed for high-density computing, utilizing advanced cooling systems to meet the Netherlands' energy efficiency target of a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.2. The private substation construction has already been completed and is operational, with the construction of the data hall expected to commence in January 2026.
