Huawei's Collaborative Vision for a Smarter and Greener Europe

On November 4, 2025, notable professionals from technology sectors and Huawei’s partners convened in Madrid for the 10th edition of the Huawei Connect Europe event. This year’s theme, "A Much Smarter and Greener Europe," emphasized the role of artificial intelligence and other technologies in accelerating Europe's digital and green transformation.

David Wang, Huawei's Executive Director of the Board, delivered a compelling speech at the event, stating, "The intelligent world is approaching faster than we ever imagined." He discussed the immense impact that technologies like AI and 5G will have on various sectors including education, healthcare, finance, and manufacturing. Wang projected that within five years, AI alone could contribute a staggering $22.3 trillion to the global economy.

With the next decade deemed crucial for dual transformation across Europe, Wang reiterated Huawei’s commitment, stating, "Our dedication to Europe, for Europe, remains strong." Through an extensive network of research and development centers, innovative labs, manufacturing bases, and supply chain centers, Huawei aims to support local customers in their transitions toward digital and green technologies. Working together with European partners, Huawei is determined to turn this shared vision into a lasting growth opportunity, thereby fostering a smarter and more eco-friendly Europe.

Commitment to Innovation and Sustainability

Leo Chen, Senior Vice President at Huawei, echoed this commitment. He highlighted the company's investments in technological innovations, ecosystem partnerships, and talent development as essential for driving the continent's digital and intelligent transformation. "Together, we can build a smarter and sustainable Europe," Chen remarked during his keynote address.

He also introduced Huawei’s flagship products and solutions designed to assist businesses in building their own digital infrastructures. One significant launch was the HUAWEI eKit 4+10+N SME Intelligence Solutions, which focuses on four key areas: smart offices, smart enterprises, smart education, and smart healthcare. Such solutions are aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises, helping them embrace new technologies and enabling the final phase of the intelligent world.

In terms of collaborative efforts, Huawei presented SHAPE 2.0, an enhanced version of its partnership framework designed to improve cooperation with local partners across Europe. Additionally, the company unveiled a plan for developing a partner alliance to better equip its distributors in offering tailored solutions and services to their customers based on various scenarios.

Talent development also remains a priority for Huawei. The company is actively partnering with universities to foster skills and create value for local communities through initiatives like Huawei ICT Academies, joint labs, and certification programs.

The event attracted guests from various organizations who contributed their perspectives on strategies for achieving digital and green transformation in Europe. Among them were Matías González Martín, Secretary General for Telecommunications and Audiovisual Communication Services at the Spanish Government's Ministry of Digital Transformation; Ultan Mulligan, Business Director at ETSI; and Armin de Greiff, Chief Information Officer at University Hospital of Essen.
