Experience the Excitement of Shinjuku's Future with the New Gallery Opening

Shinjuku Future Gallery Opens to Showcase Urban Transformation

On June 10, 2026, a new hub for information and collaboration will open its doors in front of Shinjuku Station, called the "Shinjuku Future Gallery." Operated by the Odakyu Electric Railway Co., in collaboration with Tokyo Metro and Tokyu Land Corporation, this facility aims to share the excitement and progress of the ongoing development in the Shinjuku area. Situated just a minute's walk from the station's west exit, this gallery will serve as a communication point where visitors can learn not only about current construction efforts but also the vision for the future of this bustling urban space.

Interactive Experiences and Virtual Tours

One of the highlights of the Shinjuku Future Gallery is a stunning 1:350 scale model of the planned development, including a super-high-rise building standing approximately 260 meters tall, represented in incredible detail. This intricate model is designed to give visitors a sense of the future transformation of the Shinjuku area, showcasing a district that comprises a total of 380,000 square meters.

In addition to the physical model, guests can immerse themselves in the ongoing construction environment through a VR experience. The "Shinjuku West Exit District Development VR Site Tour" will employ state-of-the-art VR technology, allowing visitors to virtually explore areas that are usually restricted due to construction work. This 15-minute immersive experience will include a 360-degree video tour, capturing scenes of the construction process, including heavy machinery and the current state of buildings being demolished.

Engage with History and Technology

The gallery will also feature engaging content such as the "Time-traveling VR Romance Car" that allows visitors to experience the evolution of the iconic Romance Car trains from the 1960s. For families, a driving simulator lets younger enthusiasts try their hand at operating a train, providing educational entertainment for visitors of all ages.

A Community Space for Interaction

Beyond exhibits, the facility will host a self-service café, providing a space where visitors can relax and share their thoughts on the development process via a communication board. This space aims to foster interaction through workshops and guided tours, allowing Shinjuku visitors to deepen their connection with this evolving part of the city.
