Introduction to W ARC
The innovative wellness project "W ARC" (pronounced as Double Arc) has taken a leap forward with the collaboration of MIC FIELD, a creative production company based in Shibuya, Tokyo, and Noah Indoor Stage, renowned for its indoor tennis schools spread across Japan. This initiative aims to fuse sports with relaxation, ultimately reimagining urban living and well-being.
Project Background: Redesigning Urban Spaces
Modern urban environments often leave people feeling connected yet isolated. Individuals face challenges when trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle, including difficulties in continuing exercise routines, forming habits alone, and sensing actual recovery during downtime. In light of these issues, W ARC seeks to counteract this lack of engaging experiences and create a more fulfilling urban lifestyle by introducing a well-being project that fosters connections between individuals while encouraging wellness practices.
The project highlights three main components that redefine how we experience urban life:
- - Establishing comfortable distances to encourage social connections
- - Creating mechanisms that promote wellness without strenuous effort
- - Designing quick pathways for psychological and physical resets
Experience Value Offered by W ARC
W ARC focuses on enhancing social interactions and wellness in various ways:
1.
Spontaneous Communication: Pickleball, known for its accessibility to beginners, promotes easy rallies and natural conversations. Adding sauna experiences into the mix softens psychological barriers, leading to unforeseen connections between participants.
2.
Effortless Wellness: Unlike strenuous workouts, W ARC combines light exercise with relaxation to create an experience where participants feel rejuvenated without excessive effort. This subtle approach allows for a more enjoyable return to wellness.
3.
Quick Recovery Design: By merging exercise with sauna sessions, W ARC allows participants to reset both mentally and physically in just 2-3 hours—perfectly appealing to busy urban dwellers.
4.
Re-Imagining Urban Spaces: Transforming parks and urban areas from mere transit zones to destinations for stays and experiences that redefine the city’s value through unique interactions and activities.
