Arisaga Partners Announces Transition to Dual CEO Structure
In a significant move aimed at enhancing governance and accelerating decision-making, Arisaga Partners, a company based in Shibuya, Tokyo, has transitioned to a dual CEO structure as of September 17, 2025. Junpei Watanabe has taken over as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), while Taiaki Omata continues in his role as Chairman and Chief Technology Officer (CTO). This strategic shift comes as the company evolves from being primarily an IT system developer to a consulting-focused digital transformation (DX) company.
Background to the Management Change
Arisaga Partners has experienced growth and transformation over its 10-year history. Originally led by Taiaki Omata, who served as both CTO and CEO, the company has witnessed a shift in its business model. The necessity for a more robust governance framework was identified as crucial for navigating this new landscape, which emphasizes consulting services.
Junpei Watanabe, who has been instrumental in establishing and expanding the consulting division that generated remarkable revenues of 3 billion yen over three years, is now leading Arisaga Partners toward its ambitious growth goals. In his journey with the company, Watanabe reorganized the consulting department and now also oversees system development, presenting a well-rounded approach to service delivery.
The new dual leadership structure is designed to relieve individual workloads and expedite decision-making processes. This governance enhancement allows for a more agile response to the ever-evolving digital landscape.
As a response to this leadership transition, Arisaga Partners remains committed to assisting clients in their DX efforts while simultaneously driving up corporate value.
Profile of Junpei Watanabe
Professional Background
Junpei Watanabe has a solid background in quality assurance for domestic and international clients at a leading Japanese manufacturer. He led projects involving the launch of new products and supported overseas plants, predominantly in Europe. After transitioning to one of the top foreign consulting firms, he gained extensive experience across a variety of sectors including manufacturing, public sector, retail, and trading companies, primarily focusing on DX projects.
Watanabe joined Arisaga Partners in 2022, quickly rising through the ranks to Division Manager and later to Executive Officer. By September 2023, he was appointed as a board member, and in February 2025, he became Vice President, and now serves as CEO.
Comments on Appointment
On his appointment as CEO, Watanabe expressed enthusiasm for the new challenges ahead. He emphasized the importance of the consulting division he helped establish and expanded over the past three years, with a team now exceeding 100 members. By taking charge of the development department as well, Watanabe is positioning the company to provide holistic DX solutions. His goal moving forward is to combine the strengths of consulting and development to further enhance the company’s capability of supporting DX initiatives for businesses across Japan.
Insight from Taiaki Omata
As Chairman and CTO, Taiaki Omata conveyed his confidence in Watanabe's ability to lead the company. Under his stewardship, Arisaga Partners has grown to employ over 400 people and has successfully navigated multiple business pivots. Omata recognizes the importance of Watanabe's extensive knowledge and experience gathered from his previous roles, reinforcing the commitment to further enhancing the consulting branch under its new CEO.
Both leaders, each with distinct expertise, embody a flexible leadership style that promotes decisive action and proactive management as they pursue the goal of elevating Japan's DX landscape to a globally respected industry.
