The upcoming 23rd China Kunming International Flower Expo (KIFE) and the Kunming International Flowers & Plants Expo (IFEX) are set to take place from September 19 to 21, 2025, at the Kunming Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Center. This exciting event, organized by RX Greater China, aims to attract over 500 exhibitors from various countries, including the UK, the Netherlands, and France, establishing Kunming as a pivotal hub for global innovations and sales trends in the floral industry.
As one of Asia's key floral events, the KIFE/IFEX will cover an exhibition area of 60,000 square meters, with more than 90% of it already booked. This expo will feature thematic displays, industry forums, interactive showcases, and live demonstrations, providing a comprehensive platform to highlight global advancements in floriculture while enhancing international trade relations.
Located in Yunnan Province, Kunming is often referred to as the 'Flower Capital of China.' This strategic positioning allows it to serve as a central distribution hub for flowers in southwestern China. A highlight of the event will be the participation of France as the honored guest country, showcasing artistic floral arrangements and local varieties at its national pavilion. Noteworthy French exhibitors will include Meilland International (roses), Morel (alpine violets), and Georges Delbard (roses and fruit trees). Additionally, top Dutch flower breeders, such as De Ruiter, Van Den Berg Roses, Schreurs, and Rijkland, will present their latest floral innovations.
Furthermore, a new pavilion dedicated to tropical plants will feature delegations from Thailand and Taiwan, as well as prominent Chinese tropical plant brands.
The expo will host professional forums covering critical topics in the floral industry, such as new plant diversity protection programs in China, seeking strategies for intellectual property protection in flower breeding, infrastructure modernization in floriculture with cutting-edge agricultural technologies, digital empowerment in the industry, and insights on e-commerce marketing from leading platforms and influencers.
The previous edition of the expo attracted 84,000 visitors, resulting in onsite transaction values exceeding 200 million renminbi. Impressively, over 92.3% of exhibitors reported high satisfaction levels regarding their participation. Exhibitors highlighted the importance of showcasing regional flowers and innovative varieties that propel technological advancements within the sector. Duan Jinhui, an exhibitor's representative, stated, "International visitors flocked to showcase Yunnan's floral industry on a global scale. We accessed various product categories and potential partners. Many exhibitors displayed appealing arrangements, and the expanded selection of equipment and technology this year is a positive development."
