HCLTech and Guardian Form New Long-Term AI Partnership for Business Modernization

HCLTech and Guardian Sign Strategic Partnership for AI-Driven Modernization

In a significant move toward business modernization, HCLTech has announced a seven-year partnership with The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America. This collaboration, which expands their previously established relationship, aims to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance Guardian's technological and operational capabilities, thereby fostering long-term growth and efficiency.

Objectives of the Partnership

The primary goal of this partnership is to create additional value for Guardian while improving operational efficiency. HCLTech plans to offer differentiated experiences, reduce operational friction, and develop AI-driven solutions tailored for the insurance sector. This initiative is expected to lead to faster go-to-market strategies and maintain high-quality experiences for customers, advisors, and distribution partners.

HCLTech will implement its AI services transformation platform, known as AI Force, to develop autonomous capabilities within Guardian's operations. These innovations are set to integrate seamlessly with Guardian’s operational model, thereby establishing a robust delivery infrastructure that can scale in line with business demands.

Talent Acquisition and Development

In conjunction with this strategic partnership, HCLTech is set to acquire Guardian India, a key global hub with a wealth of skilled professionals across technology, operations, and shared services. This acquisition will enhance HCLTech's operational capacity, facilitating Guardian's continued transformation journey. Approximately 2,000 employees from Guardian will transition to HCLTech, forming a dedicated strategic unit focused on fostering technological innovation, operational excellence, and overall product maturity.

Karunakaran Azhisur, who currently leads Guardian India, will join HCLTech to spearhead this new unit, ensuring a seamless integration and continued progress in transforming Guardian’s offerings.

Executive Insights on the Collaboration

Steve Rullo, the Chief Technology Officer at Guardian, emphasized the significance of this partnership in enhancing their operational framework. He noted that through collaboration with HCLTech, they are working to improve process consistency and scalability, while also investing in distinctive capabilities that set Guardian apart in the insurance marketplace.

Srinivasan Seshadri, HCLTech's Global Head of Financial Services, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the partnership as a reflection of their renewed leadership in the insurance industry. He expressed excitement about the opportunity to co-create innovative solutions and intellectual property that will strengthen HCLTech's sector expertise and bolster their AI-integrated platforms.
