Homestyle Direct Expands Accessibility to Nutritional Meals
In a significant move to combat food insecurity and chronic health issues, Homestyle Direct has unveiled its new meal fulfillment center in Lewisburg, Tennessee. This newly renovated 40,000-square-foot facility signifies a major advancement for both local employment and nationwide access to nutritious meals.
On August 27, 2025, the center was inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by State Senator Joey Hensley, State Representative Todd Warner, and various community leaders. The new center is not just a building; it is a promise to offer high-quality, medically tailored meals to individuals who need them most. Jeff Barteau, CEO of Homestyle Direct, stated that the facility will enable the company to double its production capacity, shipping out over 20,000 meals daily.
Homestyle Direct specializes in delivering dietitian-approved meals primarily to Medicaid and Medicare Advantage recipients. In fact, the company delivers more than 9 million meals annually, and this new center will help expand its reach to underserved communities, especially those in food deserts. The meals, designed to cater to individuals with specific dietary needs such as diabetes, heart disease, or gluten restrictions, are vital for ensuring that those with health issues receive reliable nutrition.
Senator Hensley emphasized the importance of making healthy food available to everyone across urban and rural areas. He remarked, "On behalf of Tennessee, we're proud to support Homestyle Direct as they expand to provide more accessible nutrition for all." The strategic location of the facility allows for quick delivery to the Southeast and Midwest via FedEx hubs, ensuring that meals arrive frozen and are of high quality.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony also highlighted the creation of 40 new full-time jobs in Lewisburg, further reinforcing the impact of the center not just in meal provision but also in local economic growth. Representative Warner commended the commitment of Homestyle Direct to enhance community health and food security, reiterating that nutritious meals are crucial for managing health, reducing overall healthcare costs, and providing a variety of options for individuals with differing dietary needs.
Since its establishment in 1997, Homestyle Direct has maintained a focus on delivering home-cooked quality meals that adhere to strict nutritional guidelines. By collaborating with health plans, state agencies, and community clubs, the company aims to create better health outcomes while simplifying food access for those who face daily challenges in getting healthy meals.
In essence, this new fulfillment center stands as a beacon of hope and change, promising to deliver wholesome meal options directly into homes across Tennessee and beyond. The facility not only strengthens the supply chain for nutritious food but also advances the nation’s collective effort to address food insecurity, proving that quality nutrition should be within everyone’s reach.
