Legal Defense Fund Unveils Dynamic Leadership Amid Significant Expansion

In a pivotal moment for civil rights advocacy, the Legal Defense Fund (LDF) has appointed two preeminent attorneys as their new Associate Directors-Counsel: Samuel Spital and Todd A. Cox. This significant leadership choice comes as part of LDF's strategic response to unprecedented growth and a changing political landscape as it enters its 85th year.

For the first time since 2012, two individuals will share the responsibilities of this crucial second-highest position within the nation's premier institution dedicated to racial justice. With more than 30 years of experience in racial and social justice, Cox's career spans significant roles in law, philanthropy, and government, including service during the Obama Administration. His previous stints at LDF saw him lead various initiatives in political participation and policy development.
