Hakata Hana: A New Sushi and Sake Spot Set to Thrill Foodies in Fukuoka!

Celebrating the Grand Opening of Hakata Hana

On February 26, 2026, the culinary scene in Fukuoka witnesses a delightful new addition with the grand opening of Hakata Hana, a unique sushi and sake establishment. This venue is a branch of the popular Tokyo-based restaurant Sushi Ebisu, which has captivated food enthusiasts with its exquisite offerings. With a pre-opening event on February 23, its doors officially open to the public at 4 PM on the 26th.

Hakata Hana is the latest creation by Season 2 Co., Ltd., based in Shibuya, Tokyo. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Sushi Ebisu has thrived since its inception in November 2020, expanding rapidly into nine locations across Japan, including Kobe and Osaka. Now, with Hakata Hana, the brand elevates the sushi dining experience by combining top-notch sushi with premium natural wines and sake.

The name ‘Hana’ symbolizes both the floral aroma of wine and the concept of a cozy retreat. Every aspect of the sushi is meticulously crafted, from the rice to the fish, offering a level of quality that rivals even the finest upscale establishments. The restaurant also boasts an impressive selection of naturally-produced wines, featuring selections curated by sommeliers, including orange and rosé varieties.

Hakata Hana's interior design reflects elegance while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere, ensuring that diners can enjoy their meals without feeling pretentious. To celebrate its grand opening, the restaurant is offering two exciting promotions:

1. Complimentary Medium Toro Sushi: From February 23 to 26, everyone visiting the restaurant will receive a complimentary piece of medium toro sushi, with conditions for a minimum order of two dishes per person and an additional cover charge.
2. 99 Yen Drinks Special: From February 26 to 28, all customers can enjoy unlimited highballs and chuhai for only 99 yen each, again with the same dining conditions.

Hakata Hana is already making waves on social media, not just for taste but for its visually stunning dishes. The restaurant retains the famous “Shrimp and Crab Battle” from Sushi Ebisu, enhancing it for a greater flavor experience while ensuring it remains Instagram-worthy. Seasonal herb rolls, which are both beautiful and healthy, also highlight the menu without rice.

In terms of innovation, the bamboo charcoal-infused ‘black rice’ used in sushi rolls is a significant draw, promoting health benefits while providing a unique visual appeal. Offering various dishes made with the black rice, customers can try items like the salmon kimbap for a delightful and nutritious option.

The sake selection is well-curated, catering to all preferences with options changing nightly to ensure something new and appealing is available. The same attention applies to the natural wines available, where sommeliers select bottles to perfectly pair with dishes offered, showcasing a variety of colors and types.

Beyond sushi, Hakata Hana provides a range of expertly crafted side dishes that cater to both drinkers and non-drinkers, ensuring everyone enjoys their time dining. Signature dishes include the sweet-simmered fried daikon and sweet potato mascarpone, ensuring even the most discerning palates leave satisfied.

Promotional Conditions: Customers can redeem the complimentary medium toro sushi by making a minimum order of two dishes and paying a cover charge. For the drink special, the same conditions apply and reservations may be limited to a two-hour period during peak hours.
