Palsystem Kanagawa Holds 27th General Assembly to Foster a Cohesive Community
On June 16, 2023, Palsystem Kanagawa, under the leadership of Chairperson Junko Fujita, convened its 27th general assembly at the Yokohama Bay Sheraton Hotel & Towers, located in Nishi Ward, Yokohama City. The event saw a significant turnout with 501 out of 505 representatives in attendance, leading to the successful ratification of three vital proposals aimed at enhancing community living and collective well-being.
Successful Passage of Proposals
The assembly recorded participation from 141 members physically present, supplemented by 358 who attended through written consent and 2 through proxy. All proposed items were unanimously approved. The three resolutions included:
1. A report on business activities and financial statements for the fiscal year 2025, alongside a surplus allocation plan.
2. An outline of the business policy and budget for the fiscal year 2026.
3. Amendments to the guidelines for auditing by certified public accountants.
The discussions highlighted the overarching goal for 2025, which is to make strides towards the 2030 vision of fostering a community where mutual recognition and coexistence are paramount. This vision drives the second year of the 9th medium-term plan (2024-2026), themed on respecting individual values and promoting a safe community for all participants.
Impressive Financial Performance
Palsystem Kanagawa reported a total business volume of ¥59.58 billion for the fiscal year, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 104.4%. The operational surplus, akin to corporate ordinary profits, reached ¥1.17 billion, marking a remarkable 123.2% increase from the previous year. Membership figures also saw growth, with 370,220 individuals, representing an increase of 1,681 from last year.
For the upcoming fiscal year 2026, the organization aims to enhance the quality of services in supply operations and interactions. A total business volume target of ¥59.4 billion is set, looking to achieve 31,000 new members.
Initiative for Peaceful Community Development
Following the discussions on the proposals, the assembly included a supplementary program led by Yuta Takahashi, the representative director of the General Incorporated Association Katabara (Yokohama, Kanagawa). He shared insights on initiatives for achieving a world without nuclear weapons, facilitating a reflective workshop where participants envisioned their thoughts and feelings had they been present in Hiroshima on August 6, during the atomic bombing. This exercise allowed individuals to exchange experiences and deepen their commitment to peace.
Palsystem Kanagawa remains steadfast in its mission to realize its philosophy of cherishing life and creating vibrant communities through self-reliance and cooperation. Their ongoing efforts will prioritize advancing business activities and engagement strategies within Kanagawa Prefecture.
