Since the acquisition of the Corner Bakery brand in June 2023, the company has reinvested over $6.2 million into its operations, focusing on self-funded improvements to create a vibrant environment in cafés across the nation. The recent renovations, carried out between October 2024 and January 2025, saw the introduction of updated interiors that meld modern design with the café’s signature neighborhood charm. As Chris Dharod, the CEO of Corner Bakery, noted, “We want our communities to know that we're here to stay, and our loyal guests deserve cafés that look and feel special.”

These renovations have included an array of updates: new seating arrangements, refreshed flooring, fresh paint, updated décor, redesigned beverage counters, stylish awnings, and inviting patio furniture. This comprehensive overhaul aims to create a more comfortable and contemporary atmosphere for all guests. The current updates are just the beginning; Corner Bakery plans to further invest an additional $500,000 for more renovations in early 2025, targeting locations primarily in Illinois and Pennsylvania, with an overall goal of refreshing all locations by 2027.

The company is also strengthening its technological offerings by introducing self-ordering kiosks, aligning with its mission to enhance customer service and improve efficiency. The café has established a reputation for offering mouth-watering choices like the enticing Cinnamon Creme Cake, hearty soups, and fresh salads, alongside the much-loved Panini options. The recently debuted Green Chile Chicken Panini is a testament to the restaurant's dedication to culinary innovation.

Moreover, along with these remodels, Corner Bakery is pushing forward with national expansion plans. The café has opened new corporate locations in high-traffic areas, including Union Station in Chicago and Capital Hill in Washington D.C., both inaugurated in July 2024. An exhilarating note on the horizon is the eagerly awaited re-opening of the Accenture Tower location on March 24, 2025, slated to be one of Chicago's busiest spots. The investment in these three locations totals over $1 million, paving the way for even more cafes to emerge—such as the upcoming venue in Irvine, CA, planned for May 2025.

Additionally, the franchise network continues to grow, highlighted by a new café in El Paso, TX, opened under Bakery Ventures, led by franchise owner Tyson Duncan. This new location marks the fifth Corner Bakery in El Paso and the sixth general location for Bakery Ventures. Our investment will ensure we can provide more of what guests have come to love in our community.”
