Polymaker Introduces Fiberon PETG-rCF08 and PET-CF17
In an exciting development for the 3D printing industry,
Sunstella, Japan's authorized distributor for
Polymaker, has launched two new engineering-grade filaments under the Fiberon series: the
Fiberon™PETG-rCF08 and
Fiberon™PET-CF17. Designed with practicality in mind, these filaments offer exceptional usability and stability, making them suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.
Outstanding Features of Fiberon Filaments
Both
Fiberon™PETG-rCF08 and
Fiberon™PET-CF17 have been engineered to achieve high mechanical properties through the integration of carbon fiber. This enhancement allows designers and engineers to create functional parts, jigs, and load-bearing components with direct applicability in various projects.
Fiberon™PETG-rCF08
Fiberon™PETG-rCF08 incorporates 8% recycled carbon fiber (rCF) into a PETG base, resulting in improved strength and rigidity while maintaining the excellent printability associated with PETG. Notable characteristics include:
- - Reduced warping and superior inter-layer adhesion
- - Stable moisture absorption properties
- - High compatibility with color engine printers
- - Ideal usage for jigs, brackets, prototyping tools, functional products, and structural components subjected to stress.
This model retails for ¥3,630 on the
Sunstella 3D Mall and through various other sales channels.
Fiberon™PET-CF17
On the other hand,
Fiberon™PET-CF17 contains 17% short fiber carbon reinforcement and is tailor-made for applications requiring even higher rigidity and strength. Key advantages include:
- - Minimal warping and shrinkage, ensuring exceptional dimensional stability
- - Designed to handle large parts and heavy load components
It's priced at ¥9,350 and is available at the same retail locations as the PETG-rCF08.
Recommended Specifications
Both products boast the following specifications:
- - Average filament diameter: 1.75mm
- - Weight: 0.5kg
- - Spool inner diameter: 55±1mm
- - Spool diameter: 200±1mm
- - Spool width: 65.6±2mm
- - Spool weight: 140±7g
Print Settings for Optimal Use
For
Fiberon™PETG-rCF08, it is recommended to use a print temperature between
240°C and 270°C, with a maximum print speed of
300mm/s and a bed temperature of
60°C to 70°C. The
Fiberon™PET-CF17 necessitates a higher print temperature of
270°C to 300°C, maintaining the same speed, and requires a bed temperature of
70°C to 80°C.
Overview of the Fiberon Series
The
Fiberon series, introduced as a new brand by Polymaker, consists of high-strength and high-stiffness engineering filaments, which integrate short fiber reinforcements and powders. These filaments excel in heat resistance and dimensional stability, specifically developed for engineering applications. Additionally, they come equipped with a dedicated slicing software designed for Bambu Lab's 3D printers, enabling seamless integration without extensive adjustments.
The production employs reinforced end caps on spools, allowing reliable use even with support materials without wear or degradation.
In future, Polymaker plans to consolidate its filament offerings into three main series:
PolyLite™, PolyMide™, and Polysonic™ for functional filaments, aesthetic options like
Punkroma™, and high-performance composite lines under the
Fiberon™ brand.
