SheSports Welcomes New Collegiate Athletes to Expand NIL Program for Women in Sports
In a significant move aimed at empowering female athletes, SheSports has welcomed five new collegiate athletes to its growing platform, expanding opportunities for Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) sponsorships within women's sports. The new athletes hail from esteemed institutions such as the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, Creighton University, and the University of Nebraska Omaha, marking the platform's first foray into the realms of softball and track and field. These sports, while increasingly popular and engaging, have historically received fewer NIL opportunities compared to major revenue-generating sports.
The latest additions to SheSports include notable athletes such as Ava Kuszak, an All-American infielder from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln; Avery Barnard, an outfielder at Creighton University; Ava Rongisch, an outfielder at the University of Nebraska Omaha; Kelsie Belquist, a sprinter and hurdler from UNL, and Kate Kelly, a jumper at UNO. With this expansion, the total number of athletes featured on the SheSports platform has risen to 16, encompassing a diverse range of sports including volleyball, soccer, basketball, swimming, bowling, softball, and track and field.
Since its inception in November 2025, SheSports has consistently gained traction in terms of participation and engagement. The platform is designed to be a safe and moderated space where young girls can interact with athletes, ask questions, and gain insights into various aspects of sports and life. Lexi Rodriguez, co-founder of SheSports, emphasized the dual purpose of the platform, stating that while women’s sports are experiencing unprecedented growth, the corresponding NIL opportunities are lagging. SheSports aims to bridge this gap by providing athletes with meaningful avenues for earning while simultaneously giving back to the community.
Through the platform, young girls are encouraged to pose questions related to confidence, recruiting, academics, performance pressure, and mental health. Athletes respond through short videos or written posts, fostering an environment of support and encouragement. This structured engagement not only helps female athletes enhance their personal brands but also inspires the next generation of women in sports.
The SheSports app, which provides free access to this unique community, can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play. This initiative by SheSports marks a significant step towards elevating the visibility and empowerment of female athletes, ensuring that they have the resources and support they need to thrive in their sports careers.
Looking ahead, SheSports aims to expand its roster of athletes and continue fostering an engaging and supportive community for girls aged 8 to 18. By creating what Rodriguez refers to as purposeful NIL partnerships, SheSports hopes to set a new standard for how women athletes can navigate their careers and inspire future generations. As the platform continues to grow, it remains dedicated to amplifying the voices and stories of women in sports, proving that opportunities for female athletes can indeed flourish in a supportive environment.
