Fortune has formally announced its 2026 list of the most innovative companies in Europe, spotlighting 300 organizations leading the way in progress across the continent. This year's rankings were unveiled at the VivaTech event in Paris, with notable contributions from partners such as Schneider Electric and EY.
According to the report, the rankings consider three critical criteria: product innovation, process innovation, and a robust culture of innovation. This year's edition marked its second iteration, aiming to highlight companies that exemplify excellence across various sectors.

Germany leads the way with the highest number of companies recognized at 56, followed by Switzerland (47), France (41), the United Kingdom (35), and Italy (34). Collectively, these top five countries contribute to a remarkable 71% of the total list. France also makes a strong showing, featuring four companies in the top ten.
Notably, the fields of finance and technology are heavily represented, accounting for 48 and 32 companies, respectively. A significant trend observed is that larger organizations dominate the rankings; over 75% of those featured employ more than 10,000 individuals.
