Call for Applications: 2025 Management Science Research Encouragement Fund
The Japan Management Association (JMA), located in Shibuya, Tokyo, has officially launched the application process for its 2025 Management Science Research Encouragement Fund. This initiative aims to support individuals and organizations engaged in both basic and applied research in the field of management science. The themes eligible for this funding include the utilization of digital transformation (DX), regional revitalization, and human capital management.
Research Themes
Applicants are invited to submit research proposals aligned with the following three specific themes:
1.
Utilization of DX in corporate management: Exploring the impact and strategies of digital transformation in enhancing business operations and decision-making.
2.
Measures for regional revitalization: Investigating initiatives and policies that contribute to the sustainable development and dynamism of local regions.
3.
Human capital management: Focusing on the strategies that effectively manage and nurture talent within organizations.
Eligibility Criteria
The fund is open to individuals, research groups, or organizations involved in research and studies in the field of management science, provided they agree to the following conditions:
- - Successful applicants must report their research findings within two years of receiving the award.
- - If reporting within this timeframe is not possible, an extension application may be submitted.
- - Failure to submit findings will necessitate the return of the awarded funds.
Award Details
A limited number of research projects will be selected, with grants ranging from 500,000 to 1,000,000 yen awarded for each research proposal.

Selection and Announcement

History of the Fund
Established in 1969 as part of the 20th-anniversary project of the JMA, the Management Science Research Fund honors individuals who have significantly contributed to the advancement of management practices in Japan. It has provided support to over 130 research projects over its 56-year history. The inaugural recipients of the fund included the Kasugai Laboratory at Waseda University, led by Professor Hiroshi Kasugai, and Professor Sadao Yokoyama from Musashi University.
