Blood Cancer United's Spring Ski Event Shred For Red Returns to Deer Valley

Shred For Red 2026 Returns to Deer Valley

Blood Cancer United, formerly known as The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, is excited to announce the return of its popular skiing fundraiser, Shred For Red. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the stunning Deer Valley Resort, renowned for its exceptional skiing experience often referred to as "The Greatest Snow on Earth."

This marks a significant change from the traditional early-December date for Shred For Red, making it the first spring edition of the event. The shift aims to embrace the vibrant spring skiing conditions, allowing participants to enjoy the spectacular scenery and rally the community around a great cause—supporting blood cancer patients and their families.

The Shred For Red event promises a fun-filled day for skiers of all skill levels. It attracts a multitude of passionate supporters, including notable Olympic and Paralympic athletes, coming together to honor blood cancer patients, raise essential funds, and celebrate the joy of skiing at one of the nation’s prime ski destinations.

Participants who meet the fundraising requirements will be rewarded with:
  • - A full-day ski lift ticket valid at Deer Valley Resort on March 28, 2026
  • - A special participant bib for Shred For Red
  • - Access to an on-mountain scavenger hunt and downhill racecourse
  • - The unique opportunity to ski alongside Olympians and Paralympians
  • - A festive après-ski reception at Deer Valley’s Snow Park Lodge

Adults are required to raise a minimum of $1,000 to participate, while the fundraising threshold for children under 12 is $300. This community-oriented aspect of the event not only fosters camaraderie among participants but also helps to amplify the crucial support needed for blood cancer patients.

The event will be particularly significant as it will be the first Shred For Red under the newly adopted name, Blood Cancer United, which officially transitioned from The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society on August 28. Despite the name change, the organization’s mission to improve the lives of blood cancer patients continues steadfast. Blood Cancer United aims to enable patients with blood cancer to gain over one million additional years of life by 2040 through dedicated research, treatment, support, and advocacy.

In the words of Coker Powell, Blood Cancer United’s EVP and Chief Revenue Officer, “Every three minutes, someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with blood cancer. We are exceptionally grateful for everyone joining us at Shred For Red this spring, as their support drives groundbreaking research, aids patients and families, advocates for affordable care and sends a strong message that no one remains alone in their battle against blood cancer.”

For those interested in participating or contributing to the cause, further information, including the request form, is available. It provides a great chance to not only enjoy an exciting day on the slopes but also to contribute to something far larger than oneself.
