C-BON Wins the Distinguished Blue Ribbon Medal for Community Contribution Efforts

C-BON Co., Ltd. from Minato, Tokyo, has recently been awarded the Blue Ribbon Medal, recognizing its significant contributions to community development and support. Utilizing the Corporate Furusato Tax System, which promotes regional revitalization, C-BON donated two paintings valued at an impressive 60 million yen to Tochigi Prefecture, where the company has its production and research centers.

On June 10, 2026, a ceremony celebrating this honor took place at the Tochigi Prefectural Office, attended by C-BON’s Representative Director and President Kazuhiro Saki-yama, alongside Tochigi Governor Tomiichi Fukuda. The donation consisted of two exquisite pieces by renowned Western painter Seiji Togo: "Three Floating Women," created in 1968 to commemorate the establishment of C-BON’s factory in Kamikamikawa, Tochigi, and "Repose," made in 1973 for the opening of their headquarters in Roppongi.

After undergoing restoration, these artworks will be featured in the Tochigi Prefectural Museum of Fine Arts, which plans to unveil them as part of its new attractions by fiscal year 2026.

Background of the Award

C-BON has maintained production and research centers in Kamikamikawa, Tochigi for several years. The decision to donate these artworks stemmed from a desire to give back to the community that has supported the brand throughout its history. This gesture is part of C-BON’s broader commitment to social advancement and regional growth, reinforcing their mission to contribute positively to society.

The Blue Ribbon Medal is awarded to individuals or organizations that donate substantial personal assets for public welfare—500,000 yen or more for individuals and 1 million yen or more for organizations. The honor is conferred following careful consideration and recommendations from relevant ministries, aiming to recognize altruistic contributions to national and local governmental foundations, as well as certified non-profit organizations.
