PowerX Launches Fixed Rate Electricity Service for Corporations

PowerX Introduces Fixed Rate Electricity Services for Corporations

株式会社パワーエックス, based in Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture, is set to launch its new fixed rate electricity service, "Flat Plan", on September 3, 2025. This innovative service aims to mitigate the risks associated with fluctuating electricity prices while providing sustainability options for businesses.

Key Features of the Flat Plan

The Flat Plan is specifically designed for corporate customers using high-voltage or special high-voltage power. It offers a completely fixed rate for one year, without adjustments for fuel costs or market fluctuations. This clear pricing structure allows businesses to manage their annual electricity costs with greater predictability and stability.

The fixed pricing means that corporations will not have to worry about sudden spikes in energy costs due to external market pressures, fostering a more stable budgeting process throughout the fiscal year.

Moreover, the service offers environmental options tailored to corporate sustainability goals. Businesses can choose plans that achieve either net-zero CO₂ emissions or a 50% reduction in emissions, allowing them to switch their electricity usage to virtually renewable energy sources.

Alongside the Flat Plan, PowerX is also launching a complementary scheme, the Semi-Flat Plan. This alternative allows contracts of either one year or up to three years while incorporating a base fixed rate. It slightly adjusts according to the differences between the actual market prices and a set benchmark, enabling cost-saving opportunities when prices fall in the market while still offering price stability.

Service Background

PowerX is known for manufacturing and developing large-scale storage battery systems within Japan. The company is committed to expanding the use of renewable energies through initiatives like the electricity service launched in 2024 for corporations. Having established itself as a retail electric power supplier earlier this year, PowerX has already been providing energy to numerous office buildings and commercial facilities across the country through its offsite Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) service called "X-PPA".

These two new plans are designed by combining the operational strengths of its energy storage systems with unique power sourcing expertise, all contributing to a pricing strategy that mitigates the effects of market volatility.
