Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Announces Merger and New CEO Appointment

Major Changes at Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, recently announced significant organizational changes, including a merger of several companies and a new leadership appointment. Effective from July 1, 2025, DP Technology Japan, Volume Graphics, Hexagon Metrology, and Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence (formerly Vero Software) will merge, with Hexagon MI serving as the surviving entity. This merger aims to consolidate the technology and expertise of the companies involved, foster business synergies, and expedite the delivery of superior products and services to customers.

Along with the merger, a notable change in leadership has occurred. Nozomu Ikeya has been appointed the new CEO of Hexagon MI, succeeding Makoto Konno, who will step down to focus on his role as CEO of MSC Software Japan and remain responsible for business operations in the APAC region, including Japan and Korea.

Mr. Ikeya brings over 35 years of diverse business leadership experience across the United States, Japan, and various Asian countries, particularly excelling in the fast-paced B2B sector. Throughout his career, he has held numerous general management positions that oversaw sales, marketing, and the service divisions of technology products and services, while also being responsible for profit and loss management. His track record includes significant achievements in business growth and change management.

In his statement, Ikeya expressed his enthusiasm for joining Hexagon, a global leader in measurement technology. He emphasized his commitment to leveraging his experience and working closely with the team to provide high-value solutions to customers in Japan while fostering mutual growth.

Paul Rogers, President of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence for the Americas and the Asia-Pacific region, praised Ikeya's appointment. He highlighted Ikeya’s deep industry insights and strategic vision as assets that would strengthen Hexagon’s presence in the Japanese market and accelerate sustainable growth and value creation for customers.

2025 marks a milestone for Hexagon, as it celebrates 25 years since introducing measuring technology to its portfolio and the 50th anniversary of Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence’s entry into the Japanese market.
