Arrow Global Expands Into Specialty Insurance with New Launch

On March 25, 2026, Arrow Global Group, a leading pan-European investment manager known for its expertise in private credit and real estate, announced the launch of its new initiative: Arrow Global Insurance (AGI). This new vertical is strategically designed to tap into institutional investment prospects across the diverse insurance landscape.

AGI represents a significant extension of Arrow’s existing investment platform, allowing the firm to utilize its specialized skills in underwriting, structuring, and capital management directly within the insurance sector. Notably, AGI focuses on unique, non-catastrophic insurance lines, targeting markets where nuanced analysis, customized risk assessment, and strategic capital allocation drive results. Importantly, AGI will not engage in traditional sectors such as life, climate-related, or consumer insurance.

By integrating origination, underwriting, and investment into a cohesive framework, AGI empowers Arrow Global to capture multiple sources of profitability. The potential return avenues include underwriting margins, fees from services, and investment yields derived from insurance premiums. This structure paves the way for a scalable and capital-efficient opportunity pool for investors, supported from the outset by substantial institutional capital.

The initial focus of AGI encompasses property and casualty insurance, along with specialty sectors such as after-the-event insurance, contingent and transactional risks, credit risks, and surety products. These areas are crucial for facilitating complex legal and financial transactions that often lack adequate coverage from conventional insurance providers. With increasing interest from corporate sectors and private capital participants in these specialized risks, AGI seeks to deliver effective risk transfer.

In 2024, Arrow took a significant step forward by establishing Toremis Specialty, a new managing general agent under Legatus Group, specifically designated to underwrite identified transactional and legal risks. Supporting this initiative is Halldora Re Ltd, a reinsurer founded in 2025 with backing from Arrow and capital from allied institutional investors. Halldora Re has received commendations from AM Best, achieving an A- rating for financial strength and a- for its long-term issuer credit rating, establishing its reliability and operational soundness.

AGI is positioned to thrive in fragmented markets that require bespoke risk analyses and exhibit limited competition and constrained underwriting capacity. With its vast experience in complex credit and litigation-related assets, Arrow is capable of assessing and underwriting these unique risks, offering solutions more flexibly than traditional insurers can. This specialist expertise, especially in complex and often fragmented markets, is central to AGI’s strategy to not only ensure healthy margins but also achieve attractive equity returns.

Zach Lewy, Arrow’s Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer, emphasized that the launch of Arrow Global Insurance significantly enhances the company's investment offering, providing clients with impactful access to the burgeoning specialty insurance market. By leveraging Arrow’s extensive expertise, AGI is poised to meet the growing demand for specialized risk solutions, enabling the firm to control the underwriting and risk management process closely.

Echoing this sentiment, Dan Adams, Managing Director and Head of Insurance at Arrow Global, noted that the real opportunity in specialty insurance lies within its inherent complexities. The AGI model is built to embrace these challenges effectively, aligning underwriting agility with technical expertise while benefiting from significant institutional capital support.

Arrow Global Group has steadily established itself as a formidable player since its founding in 2005, managing approximately €125 billion in third-party assets under management across Western Europe. With its headquarters in London, the company operates in various major financial hubs, emphasizing operational efficiency to maximize asset value over market cycles. This new venture into specialty insurance is projected to fortify Arrow’s market presence and deliver investment products that yield diversifying returns beyond conventional market securities.
