Advent Expands Its Global Presence with New Office in Abu Dhabi

Advent International, a global leader in private equity investment, has unveiled its latest office in Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), the international financial center of the United Arab Emirates. This establishment signals a significant enhancement of Advent's international outreach, especially within the Middle Eastern markets.

Strategic Importance of Abu Dhabi

The decision to open a branch in Abu Dhabi is a strategic one, reflecting Advent's long-standing relationships across the region. With this new base, Advent seeks to bolster connections with local investors, support portfolio companies already operational in the area, and scout fresh investment opportunities. James Brocklebank, managing partner and co-chair of Advent’s Global Executive Committee, emphasized that Abu Dhabi is a natural addition to their global network, following their recent expansions in Sydney and Tokyo. By having local teams, Advent aims to get closer to institutions and long-term partners that support their endeavors.

Leadership and Vision

Heading the new office is Mehdi Iraqi, who serves as the General Manager of Limited Partner Services. Mehdi joined Advent in January 2026 and possesses nearly two decades of experience working with institutional investors in the region. Previously associated with firms such as AMG and Carlyle, Mehdi expressed enthusiasm about continuing to strengthen relationships with some of Advent’s most valued long-term partners in the Middle East.

In light of the new office opening, he stated, “Middle East hosts some of Advent’s most valued long-term partners, and this office represents our commitment to staying close to them.” His extensive experience in institutional relations aligns perfectly with the objectives set for Advent’s new office.

Acknowledgment from ADGM

Arvind Ramamurthy, Head of Market Development at ADGM, welcomed Advent's arrival, highlighting this move as a testament to Abu Dhabi's reputation as a prime destination for global investment firms. The dynamic ecosystem of ADGM gathers international investors, financial institutions, professional service firms, and a vast talent pool—all under a solid and globally recognized regulatory framework. Ramamurthy looks forward to supporting Advent's growth and facilitating deeper interactions with regional opportunities.

Recent Global Expansions

This new office in Abu Dhabi adds to Advent's recent growth streak, which includes the opening of a facility in Sydney in July 2024 and another in Tokyo in January 2026, reinforcing the firm's presence in both the Australian and Japanese markets. Earlier this year, Advent also enhanced its stronghold in Hong Kong, which acts as a regional base for investor relations across Asia-Pacific. With a history spanning over three decades in the region, these moves underscore Advent’s commitment to operating in some of the world’s most dynamic markets. Currently, Advent maintains 18 offices across 15 countries.

In conclusion, Advent’s new presence in Abu Dhabi not only reflects the company's growth strategy but also underlines its dedication to fostering closer ties within the Middle Eastern investment landscape.
