Pultrall Inc. Expands U.S. Operations with New Fiberglass Rebar Facility in Edon, Ohio

Major Expansion by Pultrall Inc.

In a strategic move to bolster its manufacturing capabilities and market presence, Pultrall Inc. has officially inaugurated a new production facility in Edon, Ohio. This impressive 127,000-square-foot plant will focus on producing the V-ROD® fiberglass rebar, a composite solution recognized for its durability and efficiency in concrete reinforcement. By launching this facility, Pultrall aims to enhance its production capacity to meet the growing market demand, particularly in light of the Build America Buy America (BABA) initiative that commenced in 2021.

Understanding the BABA Initiative

Under the BABA program, all materials utilized in federally funded infrastructure projects must be manufactured domestically, with at least 55% of the components sourced from within the United States. The program is designed to strengthen the domestic economy while providing American workers with job opportunities in various sectors, including construction. V-ROD fiberglass rebar, which had previously been exempt from some provisions of the BABA program, is now required to meet these standards, effective October 2025. The newly established facility in Edon positions Pultrall to not only comply with these requirements but also to maximize its market potential.

A Response to Market Demands

Bernard Drouin, the President and CEO of Pultrall Inc., emphasized the importance of complying with BABA to safeguard the company’s future. "A growing portion of our revenue now comes from projects subject to BABA requirements. It is essential for us to offer a compliant V-ROD product to support our growth and protect our market share. The Edon facility allows us to do exactly that," he stated.

With this new facility's operations, once fully ramped up, Pultrall intends to double its production capacity for V-ROD fiberglass rebar. The expansion is expected to create over 60 new jobs in the local community, thus providing essential employment opportunities and contributing to the economic growth of Edon, Ohio.

Further Expansion Plans

In addition to the new Ohio facility, Pultrall Inc. also announced a significant expansion of its existing production site in Thetford Mines, Quebec. A new 10,000-square-foot V-ROD production unit is set to become operational by the spring of 2026, further augmenting the company's output capabilities. This expansion initiative began in 2023 with the acquisition of Fiberglass Innovations in Illinois, reflecting Pultrall's commitment to strengthening its leadership position in the North American fiberglass rebar market.

The investment in both facilities aligns with Pultrall’s long-term strategy to enhance its manufacturing footprint and product offerings, driven by innovation and quality standards.
