Grand Opening of the Carpenters Wellness Center in Kansas City

On March 12, 2025, the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council (MACRC) and Premise Health proudly celebrated the grand opening of the Carpenters Wellness Center located in Kansas City. This state-of-the-art facility aims to provide enhanced access to healthcare for over 4,750 union members and their loved ones who are part of the Carpenters Health Plan, overseen by the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Benefits Services.

The opening marked a significant milestone in the ongoing commitment of MACRC to provide high-quality and accessible healthcare. As MACRC Regional Director Rocky Kloth expressed, "The opening of the Carpenters Wellness Center is the culmination of careful planning and cooperation by organizations intent on providing the type of care that hardworking men and women deserve—high quality and accessible, without surprises." This new healthcare facility aligns with MACRC's dedication to promoting better health outcomes for union families.

Located at 8965 E. 38 Terrace, the Carpenters Wellness Center is available on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for in-person consultations. Members, retirees, and dependents starting from the age of two are eligible to schedule appointments, often available on the same day or the next, all without any out-of-pocket expenses.

The center is staffed by a dedicated team comprising six full-time, licensed healthcare providers from Premise Health. They offer a wide array of high-quality medical services, including primary and preventive care, pediatrics, behavioral health services, chiropractic care, and x-ray imaging. Additionally, nursing triage support is available after hours to cater to members who may require care during non-traditional hours.

Stu Clark, CEO of Premise Health, noted, "We are honored to open this wellness center to provide access to care for more union members and their families. Premise and the Carpenters align on the common goal of helping their members get, stay, and be well. This new facility further extends the opportunity to achieve better health for hardworking families."

Since 2018, MACRC and Premise have been collaborating to ensure their members benefit from affordable, quality healthcare. With the growing national trend towards unionization and enhancing member benefits, this partnership continues to develop, bringing substantial health advantages to numerous families.
