Starting from July 22, 2025, FamilyMart will introduce the "Kumamoto Melon Yogurt" as part of its collaboration with the JA Zen-Noh brand, "Nippon Ale". This product will be available nationwide across approximately 16,300 FamilyMart stores, retailing at 195 yen (tax included: 210 yen). This initiative embodies one of FamilyMart's ongoing commitments to customer satisfaction through delicious food.

The Essence of Nippon Ale


"Nippon Ale" symbolizes Japan's commitment to showcasing the nation’s agricultural richness by supporting products sourced from all 47 prefectures. Through this collaboration, FamilyMart aims to not only serve high-quality products but also to promote domestic ingredients and agricultural support.

Since April 2023, the collaboration with Nippon Ale has successfully launched a series of special yogurt products, highlighting the brand's continued success in bringing fresh flavors to its customers. The newly launched Kumamoto Melon Yogurt features two notable varieties of melons: the sweet and succulent Higo Green and the popular Andesu melon. These melons are cut into substantial pieces, expertly blended into the yogurt to ensure a delightful drinking experience.

Aimed at Supporting Local Farmers


The production of Kumamoto melons faced some challenges in 2024 due to extreme heat, resulting in smaller fruit that couldn’t be sold as fresh produce. However, this new yogurt will utilize those melons as ingredients, thereby providing necessary support to local farmers while allowing consumers to enjoy the authentic taste of Kumamoto melons.

"Despite some melons not meeting fresh produce standards due to insufficient ripening, we’re thrilled to utilize these for processing, which benefits both the producers and consumers," shared a representative from JA Kumamoto Economic Federation, citing the favorable weather conditions for 2025 melon crops.
