Sonata Software Secures a Multi-Million Dollar Modernization Deal

In a notable development for the tech industry, Sonata Software, a premier player in Modernization Engineering, has successfully won a multi-million dollar contract from a prominent global leader in access solutions. Announced on November 27, 2024, this significant deal represents a crucial step in enhancing operational efficiency across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

Transforming Business Processes Across Multiple Countries

The agreement stipulates that Sonata Software will assist its client in deploying digital transformation initiatives across 13 countries in the APAC region. This involvement aims to streamline and standardize the client’s business processes, thereby facilitating seamless interactions with customers, suppliers, distributors, and partners.

Upgrading Legacy Systems

A key component of this modernization initiative will see Sonata partnering with the client to upgrade their existing Dynamics AX 2012 R3 system to the latest D365 Finance and Supply Chain Management. This transition will include the migration of essential data from legacy platforms, incorporating a state-of-the-art data framework, and deploying more than 260 Power BI reports to enhance business intelligence capabilities. Additionally, enhanced warehousing and planning processes will be implemented, starting from pilot programs located in Australia, New Zealand, and China.

Integrating Microsoft Technology

Further enhancing this endeavor, Sonata plans to build an intelligence layer using Microsoft Fabric within the client’s systems. This integration is intended to streamline the data-to-decision process, significantly improving operational workflows and decision-making efficiency.

The deal was secured during the first quarter of fiscal year 2025, and it was highlighted in an earnings call held on July 31, 2024. According to Anthony Lange, Chief Revenue Officer at Sonata Software, “Our efforts will focus on automating end-to-end processes, utilizing Microsoft’s wide-ranging tech stack to boost scalability and facilitate smoother adaptations for the client.”
