Vibram Japan, known for its production and sale of high-performance rubber outsoles, has announced a significant partnership with the Natural Selection Tour (NST), regarded as the pinnacle of backcountry freestyle snowboarding competitions, founded by world-renowned snowboarder Travis Rice. This collaboration will officially kick off on March 6, 2026, and promises to elevate the standards of performance and safety in winter sports.

The NST has garnered global attention as an innovative snowboarding competition that leverages natural terrain to showcase creativity and skill. Its signature event, the YETI Natural Selection Revelstoke, held in Canada, brings together some of the best snowboarders worldwide, who navigate rugged landscapes to deliver spectacular performances.

Interestingly, Japan's own Niigata region has been selected as a venue for one of the preliminary events, called SUPER SESSIONS. The competition is set to be held at a ski resort in Myoko, Niigata, in February 2026, where several Japanese athletes are expected to represent the nation. Following the preliminaries, the main event will occur between March 10 and 15, 2026, with two days designated based on the best weather conditions, and the action will be broadcast live on Red Bull TV. The NST challenges riders with unpredictable environments, making grip and stability essential for optimal performance.

Central to this partnership is the upcoming update of the snowboard boot, the Union Reset Pro, set to debut in the fall of 2026.
