From September 16th to October 16th, 2023, the hybrid izakaya
Tamusuke in Akasaka is dedicated to food enthusiasts with a special limited-time offering: the
Bari Kata Set. This event marks the release of
Yūhi Komiyama's essay,
Tsuma-mi Hyakkei, a delightful exploration of culinary delights that brings together the rich flavors of
Osaka and
Hakata.
Founded by
Transit Operation Services in Shibuya, Tamusuke merges the best elements of Osaka’s famous okonomiyaki with Hakata’s renowned udon in a unique setting where guests can enjoy a hearty meal without needing to hop between restaurants. With its motto,
Hajigo muyō. Ikken racchaku, meaning “no need to hop between places; settle in one,” Tamusuke provides the perfect ambiance for food lovers.

Bari Kata Set includes:
- - Crispy Yakisoba (Osaka Specialty): A delightful twist on traditional yakisoba, served crispy for just 600 yen (tax included).
- - Goboten Mentai Dip (Hakata Specialty): A rich dipping dish featuring burdock and spicy cod roe for the same price of 600 yen (tax included).
For just
1,500 yen (tax included), patrons can indulge in this great deal that combines both regional favorites, enhanced with Komiyama's recommended
kata (frothy) oolong highball, promising a uniquely rich flavor experience.
About the Book
Yūhi Komiyama’s
Tsuma-mi Hyakkei is his first original food essay paying tribute to his three-decade-long career. Diving deep into the world of
tsumami or snack foods, the book invites readers to appreciate the intricacies behind each dish. From popular side dishes like gyoza, liver stir-fry, and golden spring rolls, the essay introduces various eating philosophies, the quirky debates surrounding these dishes, and the endearing nature of people when food is involved. Yūhi Komiyama, born in 1973 in Harajuku, Tokyo, is celebrating his 30th anniversary as a musician and the keyboardist/vocalist of the band
Hoff Dylan. Known as the
Gourmet General of the Music Scene, he has made numerous media appearances, including on
BS Fuji and
NHK Radio, while contributing to various magazines and online platforms. His works, such as
Delicious! Home Curry and
The New Guide to Izakaya, showcase his culinary passion. Additionally, he proudly serves as the longest-serving tourism ambassador in his hometown of Shibuya.
