Verde Resources and Biochar Solutions Join Forces in Sustainability Initiatives

Verde Resources and Biochar Solutions: A New Partnership for Sustainable Infrastructure

In a significant move towards enhancing sustainable infrastructure, Verde Resources Inc. (OTCQB: VRDR) has entered into a key supply agreement with Biochar Solutions LLC (BSL) to provide engineered biochar. This partnership not only aims to bolster Verde's environmentally sustainable product offerings but also presents a promising opportunity for revenue generation through carbon credits.

The collaboration is poised to facilitate the incorporation of engineered biochar into Verde's innovative BioAsphalt™ technology. Biochar, produced from biogenic waste, is a durable and stable carbon source and has thus emerged as a vital component in diminishing the carbon footprint of construction materials. With the capability to produce up to 38,500 tons of biochar annually, BSL's role extends beyond manufacturing; they will also support joint patent development and carbon credit revenue sharing.

The recent agreement signifies a foundational shift for Verde as it pursues its vision of carbon-sequestering infrastructure. The initial deliveries of biochar are expected to yield significant carbon removal credits, pending verification, thereby enhancing the commercialization potential of Verde’s eco-friendly products. Notably, about half of the biochar produced may qualify for these credits, underscoring the financial viability of sustainable practices within the construction sector.

Back in December 2024, Verde and Oregon Biochar Solutions launched a successful proof-of-concept project showcasing BioAsphalt™ in a live roadway application. Impressively, this initiative marked the generation of verified Carbon Removal Credits, purchased by a prominent global financial institution, emphasizing institutional validation of infrastructure-based carbon removals. Since then, Verde’s technology has garnered further validation from the National Center for Asphalt Technology (NCAT), promoting its performance across real-world applications.

Verde’s commitment to sustainability is backed by its unique model, which combines engineered materials with proprietary asphalt systems, ensuring each element contributes to a sustainable construction framework. Crucially, the collaboration with BSL is anchored in performance improvement, ensuring the biochar delivers repeatable results that meet established specifications.

The 18-month evaluation period set for this partnership aims to assess the market opportunities for biochar in construction, with intentions to extend the relationship into a more comprehensive five-year agreement. The carbon removal credits generated through this partnership will be independently verified, ensuring transparency and compliance with rigorous standards to mitigate the risk of greenwashing.

With a simultaneous ten-year commercial agreement with Ergon Asphalt Emulsions, the largest asphalt producer in North America, Verde is strategically positioned to execute its growth strategy. By linking carbon monetization efforts with large-scale distribution avenues, Verde aims to root its sustainable efforts in successful financial models that resonate with an increasingly eco-conscious market.

Eric Bava, COO of Verde, remarked on the importance of establishing a long-term engineered biochar supply, aligning carbon credit monetization, and advancing joint intellectual property development. These components bolster Verde's infrastructure platform, allowing it to transform roads into effective carbon sinks. Additionally, Verde’s Net Zero Blueprint proposes a globally deployable model that aligns with existing asphalt systems to accelerate decarbonization without necessitating the construction of entirely new facilities.

Moreover, the partnership's approach enables local production of engineered biochar from available biowaste materials, providing a viable solution for developing regions to convert waste into valuable materials while creating essential carbon emissions credits. This initiative posits a replicable global model that could ultimately inspire countries to adopt low-carbon construction materials and participate in emerging carbon markets.

Biochar Solutions, which has been producing engineered biochar since 2008, expressed its commitment to expanded collaboration with Verde. By focusing on high-volume infrastructure applications, this partnership looks set to deliver measurable and verified carbon outcomes, ensuring the integrity of both the products and the carbon storage achieved through them.

In conclusion, the collaboration between Verde Resources Inc. and Biochar Solutions LLC exemplifies an important step forward in the quest for sustainable infrastructure solutions. By harnessing the potential of engineered biochar and innovative technologies, both companies are working towards ushering in an era of reduced greenhouse gas emissions, reflecting a shared commitment to environmental accountability and climate action.
