LOGOS Energy's Groundbreaking Achievements in the Mancos Development Program
LOGOS Energy, LLC, a leading energy company specializing in the development of natural gas and oil resources, has reached remarkable milestones in its 2025 Mancos Shale development program located in the San Juan Basin. The company's ambitious initiative, which was heavily influenced by a management buyout in 2022, has resulted in an impressive tripling of its operated production, marking a significant advancement in efficiency and output.
Since the inception of the 2025 program, LOGOS has successfully drilled 28 of the top 36 wells in the San Juan Basin's history based on peak monthly production rates. The Rosa Unit 756H, for example, achieved an astounding Peak Initial Production (IP30) of 26.6 million cubic feet equivalent per day (MMcfe/d) from a total lateral length of 13,721 feet. This set a new record for the highest 30-day rate ever recorded within the basin. Notably, this achievement comes on the heels of another successful well, the Rosa Unit 704H, which had previously reached 25.5 MMcfe/d in 2024.
In July 2025, LOGOS marked a pivotal moment with the launch of its first horizontal well in Colorado, the Ignacio 33-7 29P. This well recorded a peak IP30 of 19.9 MMcfe/d and has maintained production levels around 10 MMcfe/d after five months of operation. The company is optimistic that these results confirm the consistency and potential of the Mancos reservoir across both New Mexico and Colorado.
The 2025 program included the initiation of 15 new Mancos wells, achieved with outstanding drilling and completion efficiency. Overall, LOGOS completed a total of approximately 158,000 feet of lateral during the year, a notable accomplishment that includes the completion of its first three-mile laterals on Pad 26, which consists of six wells averaging 13,910 feet of completed lateral per well. Following its launch in early December, Pad 26 yielded an impressive total gross production that averaged over 150 MMcfe/d during the final 12 days of December, with all six wells surpassing 21 MMcfe/d.
Additionally, LOGOS continued its drilling effort by developing an extra seven wells in 2025, with a combined lateral length exceeding 100,000 feet. This portfolio will be completed in 2026, featuring the Rosa Unit 834H, which is touted as the company's first 4-mile well and the longest horizontal well ever drilled in the San Juan Basin, with a total measured depth of 27,382 feet.
Jay Paul McWilliams, the Chief Executive Officer of LOGOS Energy, expressed pride in the company’s advancements, stating, "LOGOS and North Hudson are leading the transformation of modern Mancos development, demonstrating that the San Juan Basin can compete with the finest natural gas plays across North America. Our team is committed to pushing the technical boundaries, from record lateral lengths to achieving top-tier production rates. The Mancos has now become a proven, repeatable growth engine, and I'm incredibly proud of our team's efforts in this transformation."
