Ivy Rehab's Support of Movement and Community Shines at Broad Street Run

Ivy Rehab's Impact at the Broad Street Run

Ivy Rehab Physical Therapy recently marked its fourth consecutive year of supporting the Independence Blue Cross Broad Street Run, a significant 10-mile event recognized as the largest of its kind in the nation. The run took place on May 3, 2026, and transformed Philadelphia into a vibrant hub of runners, volunteers, and cheering spectators, culminating at the Navy Yard.

This year's participation was noteworthy for Ivy Rehab not only because of its ongoing sponsorship but also as it served as the Official Expo Partner for the Health and Wellness Expo associated with the race. This partnership deepened their involvement, as Ivy's dedicated team members actively engaged with participants throughout the training season, during the two-day expo, and on race day, providing crucial recovery resources and encouragement.

A notable 60 Ivy Rehab employees took part in the race, representing various local clinics and exemplifying the organization's commitment to community and fitness. However, Ivy's contribution extends beyond their own runners; they demonstrated a significant dedication to local youth by donating race entries to Students Run Philly Style (SRPS), a nonprofit that leverages the sport of running to mentor and empower young people.

SRPS aimed high this year, gathering over 1,100 runners to participate, making it the largest group in the event. Danny Burke, the director of development at SRPS, remarked on the transformative impact of such events on the youth involved — not just on race day but throughout their preparation journey. He emphasized the fundamental life skills gained through mentorship and athletic training, such as confidence and goal-setting.

Pat Watson, Ivy's Vice President of Operations for the Mid-Atlantic region, emphasized the organization’s belief in the transformative power of movement. According to Watson, running fosters connections, instills confidence, and cultivates community spirit. Through initiatives like the Broad Street Run, Ivy aims to enhance the lives of individuals in the Philadelphia area.

Looking ahead, Ivy Rehab remains committed to supporting its communities and nurturing active lifestyles, ensuring that runners of all ages and capabilities continue to move forward — not just in fitness but in life.

With this ongoing dedication, Ivy Rehab is poised to make even greater contributions in the future, reinforcing the idea that active living is integral to overall well-being and community bonding.
