Volcan de mi Tierra Unveils Distilling Stories Project to Spotlight Mixology Talent
Volcan de mi Tierra Launches the Distilling Stories Project
Volcan de mi Tierra, a premium tequila brand born from the partnership between the renowned Gallardo family from Mexico and the luxury giant Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH), is excited to announce a new global initiative called the Distilling Stories project. This initiative aims to discover, mentor, and elevate the next generation of mixology talent. The project will kick off in the United States and later expand to Europe, with filming in five European countries scheduled for this summer.
In collaboration with Licensed to Distill (LTD)—the world's largest online cocktail community—the Distilling Stories project will begin by showcasing the signature cocktails created by 16 bartenders in five major U.S. cities: New York, Los Angeles, Austin, and Miami. As part of this unique campaign, these talented bartenders will also participate in a mentorship retreat at Hacienda La Gavilana, a historic estate that has been in the Gallardo family since it was established in 1774, this year marking its 250th anniversary. This retreat will enrich the participants' skills, allowing them to learn from esteemed tequila mentors, including Jabin Troth, the founder of Licensed to Distill; Jordan Hughes, an acclaimed photographer and author; and storyteller Josh Hernandez.
CEO and Co-Founder Santiago Cortina Gallardo said, "Distilling Stories was conceived to celebrate craftsmanship. The cocktails created by these mixologists tell a story, and their experiences will shape the future of the tequila industry. We recognize the bartenders who infuse innovation into our craft and aim to amplify their voices through Distilling Stories."
Jabin Troth, the founder of LTD, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "Volcan de mi Tierra has a compelling narrative waiting to be told. Our partnership is dedicated to sharing this story with a broader audience, thereby connecting more individuals to the heritage, passion, and brilliance that make this brand world-class."
At the core of the Distilling Stories project is a firm belief that elite mixologists deserve a unique platform. Volcan de mi Tierra is opening the doors of some of the best bars across the United States and Europe to these talented individuals, starting with renowned establishments such as Manhatta (New York City), The Powder Room (Austin), Thunderbolt (Los Angeles), and The Moore (Miami). The primary goal is to empower these liquid artists by providing them with not just a stage, but the necessary resources to create extraordinary and truly crafted drinks.
As for the Distilling Stories project itself, it represents a refreshing approach to elevating the art of mixology. This initiative intends to redefine the standards within the industry, demonstrating what a concerted effort to celebrate bartenders can achieve in terms of showcasing their talents.
In summary, Volcan de mi Tierra's Distilling Stories project is a noble endeavor that promises to illuminate the next generation of mixologists, providing them with opportunities and mentorship that can lead to meaningful advancements in the world of tequila and cocktails.
