Carrington College Receives Generous Donation to Boost Dental Programs

Major Donation to Dental Assisting Programs by PDS Health

Carrington College has been selected to receive a substantial contribution of $10,000 from PDS Health, significantly enhancing its Dental Assisting programs. This generous donation is part of PDS Health's ongoing commitment to improving dental education and supporting future dental assistants across various communities. The funds will primarily be allocated towards acquiring intraoral cameras, essential tools that will enrich the training experience for students enrolled in the Dental Assisting programs.

To mark this significant contribution, Rosalinda Olague, PDS Health's Director of Dental Assisting Programs and School Relations, is visiting several Carrington College campuses to personally present the donation. The first such event took place on February 4, 2025, at 11 a.m. PST, in Sacramento, California, where students, faculty, and staff were invited to partake in the celebration.

In her remarks addressing attendees, Olague expressed her pride in contributing to the educational journey of Carrington College students. She emphasized the importance of ensuring that students receive high-quality training that fully prepares them for successful careers in dental health. "PDS Health is honored to contribute to the success of Carrington College's Dental Assisting programs," she stated. This sentiment reflects the long-term vision of PDS Health to empower students through better educational resources and practical experiences.

Tim Pitman, the Campus Director at the Sacramento location, also expressed gratitude for PDS Health's support. He acknowledged that this funding will augment hands-on training opportunities for students, equipping them with the necessary skills and tools to excel in the dental field. The collaborative efforts between Carrington College and PDS Health illustrate a strong partnership aimed at fostering future talent in dentistry.

This announcement is particularly timely as it comes just before Dental Assistant Recognition Week (DARW), which is celebrated from March 2 to March 8, 2025. This week is dedicated to acknowledging the crucial role of dental assistants in the healthcare system, highlighting their contributions in ensuring the delivery of quality dental care. Carrington College holds DARW in high regard, using the occasion to honor the achievements of its Dental Assisting students and graduates.

Carrington College's Dental Assisting program is noted for providing extensive training that prepares students for a range of duties including patient care, administrative responsibilities, and laboratory tasks. This comprehensive curriculum ensures that graduates are well-prepared to work collaboratively with dentists, pivotal in maintaining the efficiency of dental practices. With 14 campuses scattered across the United States —from Albuquerque to Tucson— students now have improved access to vital resources and support to enhance their learning experiences.

The mission of Carrington College, established in 1967, revolves around empowering students to reach their goals and make positive contributions to society. This mission aligns seamlessly with PDS Health's vision, which has evolved since its inception as Pacific Dental Services in 1994. PDS Health's focus on integrating dental and medical services underscores its commitment to fostering healthier patient outcomes, reaffirming the significance of collaborative efforts in education and healthcare.

In summary, the $10,000 donation from PDS Health marks a pivotal moment for Carrington College as it embarks on a new chapter of growth for its Dental Assisting programs, enriching the future of dental education and patient care in the communities it serves.
