Farm Aid's 40th Anniversary Festival to Celebrate Family Farming in Minneapolis

Celebrate Farm Aid's Milestone Anniversary

Farm Aid is excited to announce that for the first time ever, it will host its annual festival in Minnesota, taking place on September 20, 2025, at the iconic Huntington Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. This festival marks a significant occasion as it celebrates the 40th anniversary of Farm Aid, an event dedicated to supporting family farmers across the nation.

A Star-Studded Lineup

Among the performers slated for the festival are some of the biggest names in music, including Farm Aid's co-founders, Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, along with Dave Matthews and Margo Price. The festival will feature a full day of performances, as well as a variety of activities focusing on family farmers, sustainable practices, and good food.

Attendees can expect to see a range of sought-after artists such as Billy Strings, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, and many more, all contributing their talents to this memorable event. Tickets will be available starting May 16, 2025, with prices ranging from $101 to $390.

A Legacy of Support for Farmers

Since its inception in 1985, Farm Aid has raised over $85 million to support family farmers, highlighting initiatives aimed at economic stability and sustainability in agriculture. The festival symbolizes solidarity and resilience among farmers, advocating for their rights and acknowledging the hard work they put into feeding the nation.

Willie Nelson, the organization's president, stated, "Family farmers are the heart of this country, and we depend on each other for good food and strong communities." This sentiment echoes throughout the festival, which not only celebrates the achievements of farmers but also addresses ongoing challenges they face, such as corporate influence and policy barriers.

Advocating for a Sustainable Food System

Farm Aid's mission over the years has always been about more than just great music—it's about raising awareness of the issues faced by family farms and advocating for a food system that works for everyone. The festival will introduce fans to the HOMEGROWN Concessions®, an initiative presenting food made from ingredients that are sourced from local farmers who practice ecological farming methods.

In addition to the performances, the event will feature the HOMEGROWN Village, where festival-goers can engage in hands-on activities and learn about the importance of sustainable agriculture. This highlights Farm Aid's commitment to educating the public about the role that food systems play in our communities and extending support to local farmers eager to promote ecological practices.

Looking to the Future

The 40th anniversary not only reflects on four decades of advocacy but also calls on supporters to unite for the cause of family farming. Farm Aid Co-Executive Director Jennifer Fahy emphasized the importance of this year’s events, stating, "Our anniversary marks a critical time for the nation to come together in support of the family farmers we all depend on. Our work isn’t done. There are significant threats to the future of family farm agriculture and our food system."

Farm Aid 40 promises to be an unforgettable celebration of music, food, and community, inviting both longtime supporters and new fans to join in this important cause. As Nelson pointed out, "When we invest in rural communities, we uplift the well-being of our entire country."
