Exploring the Future of Femtech in Japan
On August 28, 2025, the Japan Planning Institute (JPI) will host an insightful seminar titled "Recent Developments in Femtech: Insights from Japan's Liberal Democratic Party.” This event promises to shine a light on the essential developments in the Femtech sector and the government's ongoing efforts in promoting these initiatives. The event will feature a presentation by
Takuma Miyaji, who serves as the Secretary General of the Femtech Promotion Parliamentary Alliance and is also the Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs in the House of Representatives.
Unpacking the Femtech Movement
As Japan faces an ever-growing challenge with its declining birthrate and an aging population, the need for innovative solutions becomes more critical. In response, the Femtech Promotion Parliamentary Alliance, comprising members from the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, has embarked on a mission to address health issues that affect women, including menstruation and menopause, which have often remained in the shadows of public discourse. They have completed recommendations for pressing issues identified at their inception and are now entering a new phase of influence in 2025.
The Seminar Breakdown
During this seminar, participants will gain insights into the fourth set of recommendations released in May 2025 that highlight strategic approaches to support and enhance Femtech in Japan. The agenda includes:

3. The process of discussions within the alliance
4. Details of recommendations and their outcomes
5. Future initiatives of the alliance and ongoing promotional strategies
6. A Q&A session to engage with the speaker and clarify insights
7. Networking opportunities through business card exchanges
