Overview of the JIPDEC Seminar on AI Risk Management
The Japan Information Economic Society Promotion Association (JIPDEC) is offering a complimentary seminar titled "Latest Trends in AI Risk Management and AI Management System (AIMS) Certification". This seminar, available on demand until April 20, 2026, delves into the challenges and strategies associated with the rapid advancements in AI technologies, particularly generative AI.
In recent years, the burgeoning development and adoption of AI have led to significant improvements in operational efficiency and the creation of new business opportunities. However, with these advances come pressing social risks such as misinformation amplified by deepfakes, privacy infringements, and unjust AI decision-making. In the cybersecurity realm, while AI enhances protective measures, it also introduces new threats through sophisticated cyberattacks that exploit AI capabilities, making effective management of these risks a priority for businesses.
As AI implementation accelerates globally, organizations must establish frameworks to balance cybersecurity with AI governance, ensuring safe application while effectively managing risks. The seminar will provide an overview of key management points concerning international cybersecurity and AI, along with a structured approach for companies to systematically address AI-related risks through the AI Management System (ISO/IEC 42001). Practical examples of successful implementations will also be shared to enlighten participants on effective methods of application.
