Mujin Expands Its AGV Lineup
Mujin, a comprehensive automation technology firm, has launched the second phase of its "MujinAGV" lineup with two innovative safety models: one capable of transporting loads up to 300kg and another designed for 1,500kg.
Meeting the Evolving Transport Needs in Factories
In the current landscape of manufacturing and logistics, there is an increasing demand for small-lot, high-frequency transport due to diversification and minimization of inventory. Additionally, the rise in hybrid vehicle (HV) demand has led to a growing need for battery transport, further amplifying the need for automation in transport. Many workplaces must modernize while retaining existing equipment and workflows, making the creation of a safe transport solution that can operate in the same areas as workers critical.
To this end, Mujin is pushing forward its automation efforts, centered around the integrated automation platform "MujinOS", considering everything from small startup solutions to overall optimization. The expansion of the MujinAGV lineup is designed to address varied transport needs across different work environments, offering flexible solutions for both small and heavy-duty requirements.
Introducing Two New Safety Models
Both models adhere to the industrial safety standards of ISO3691-4 and are engineered to operate safely in areas where separating pedestrians from vehicles is challenging, allowing for effective automation of transport tasks.
300kg Capacity Safety Model
This model is intended for applications such as supplying parts to manufacturing lines, specifically in tight corridors and limited transport space. It boasts the most compact design in the MujinAGV series, accommodating the increase in small-lot, high-frequency part supply that manufacturing processes are experiencing.
1,500kg Capacity Safety Model
Designed for transporting large and heavy items, this model is suitable for applications such as the assembly processes of HV vehicles that require moving batteries. It has been structured to manage transportation of components exceeding 1,000kg, facilitated by advancements in body structure integration and modular design.
Why MujinAGV Stands Out: Proven Reliability and Extensive Deployment
MujinAGV has established a strong reputation, having delivered over 1,500 units predominantly to domestic automobile manufacturers and parts suppliers. The systems have demonstrated stable operation in diverse environments, with about 70% of client companies opting for repeat orders. Mujin provides comprehensive support from specification design during installation to maintenance afterward. Their specialized team assists in mapping, maintenance support, and ensuring operational stability post-installation. Additionally, Mujin has expanded its dedicated teams in the Aichi-Mikawa area, enhancing localized technical support and services. The following cases showcase the effective application of MujinAGV:
- - Toyota Boshoku Corporation: Integrated a palletizing system with AGV for efficient storage and transport of finished goods. Learn more
- - Sango Co., Ltd.: Advanced factory logistics in an unmanned product warehouse, accelerating DX and cost reduction efforts. Learn more
