Support Hachinohe through Dining and Cultural Experiences in Tokyo

Support Hachinohe through Food and Culture

The recent earthquake off the eastern coast of Aomori Prefecture in December 2025 has surely affected many. Our thoughts are with those impacted. Amid this backdrop, Mirai-zukuri Company, based in Minato, Tokyo, is actively engaging in community revitalization through unique projects that combine travel and dining experiences.

In partnership with the Hachinohe Senbei Soup Research Institute, Mirai-zukuri Company is launching initiatives to promote Hachinohe’s culinary landscape and cultural experiences. With tourism in the region seeing a decline since the quake, it is crucial for locals and visitors alike to maintain interest in Hachinohe. Most of the dining and accommodation facilities continue to operate as usual, providing an array of options for visitors.

The centerpiece of the campaign is “Travel Dining - Hachinohe,” a series of events held in Tokyo, specifically in Akasaka. The first of these events, “Hachinohe Night,” will allow attendees to savor local delicacies while engaging with guides from the Hachinohe Senbei Soup Research Institute. This event is slated for January 16, 2026, from 18:00 to 20:30, and includes a two-hour culinary experience featuring traditional dishes and drinks. It provides a platform for genuine conversation about Hachinohe, while also offering guests a sneak peek into the upcoming Enburi Festival in February.

Get Closer to the Enburi Festival

The Enburi Festival is an age-old celebration taking place over 800 years. It commemorates the end of winter with songs, dances, and drum performances that herald the arrival of spring.
