Arglass Strengthens Leadership with Alex Garner's Appointment
Arglass, recognized as North America's leading sustainable and technologically advanced glass manufacturing platform, has made a significant leadership move by appointing Alex Garner as its new Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Sustainability. This strategic appointment comes at a time when the company aims to enhance its market presence while staying true to its commitment to sustainability.
A Proven Track Record
Garner arrives at Arglass with over two decades of experience in commercial leadership roles spanning consumer goods, packaging, and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors. His career began at ConAgra Foods, where he managed sales across 40 different brands, demonstrating his capability to handle substantial revenue streams.
After his tenure at ConAgra, he moved to Thanasi Foods as Regional Sales Manager, successfully increasing sales by 24% across a seven-state region. Garner's expertise further flourished during his time at Coca-Cola's Odwalla brand, where he nurtured vital relationships with major grocery chains and boosted his account portfolio to exceed $10 million in sales annually.
Most recently, Garner excelled as the Vice President of Sales at ePac Flexible Packaging in Chicago, where he led a $145 million operation. Here, he orchestrated a complete commercial overhaul that resulted in a 12% revenue growth and a 15% margin improvement. His significant contributions supported ePac's acquisition by Butterfly Equity, underscoring his capability to generate commercial value effectively.
Entrepreneurial Spirit
Beyond his corporate success, Garner stands out through his entrepreneurial mindset. He founded Yumix, a ready-to-mix cocktail brand, nurturing it from concept to national distribution. Garner secured $5 million in private funding and established a national co-packing network, resulting in placements at over 300 stores across 22 states. Yumix was recognized as a Golden Ticket winner by Walmart in 2018, enabling distribution in 753 locations.
This entrepreneurial spirit aligns with Arglass's foundational concepts, which seek to innovate within the glass manufacturing process. Garner's ability to build and his comfort in navigating risks align well with Arglass’ forward-thinking culture.
