Alcare Corporation Celebrates Its 70th Anniversary in 2025 with New Logo

Alcare Corporation Celebrates 70 Years of Commitment to Healthcare

Alcare Corporation, a renowned name in the medical field, proudly marks its 70th anniversary on July 1, 2025. Founded in 1955, Alcare originated with the revolutionary development and manufacturing of Japan's first plaster cast bandage, known as Speedgips. This innovation transformed the labor-intensive process of creating casts, which used to burden both healthcare professionals and patients. The founders, witnessing the challenges faced in medical settings, undertook the endeavor of creating a more user-friendly product, laying the foundation for Alcare’s mission to produce “kind products” that relieve the strain on medical staff and enhance patient comfort.

As of now, Alcare offers an impressive array of over 300 products and 2,000 items across four specialties: pressure ulcers and wounds, nursing, stoma care, and orthopedics. The company has consistently focused on innovation, developing products that contribute to the well-being of patients and the efficiency of healthcare providers.

New Logo for the 70th Anniversary

In celebration of this significant milestone, Alcare has designed a new logo that will be utilized throughout the anniversary year starting from July 2025. The logo features seven lines, symbolizing the journey of the past 70 years. Each line represents the intricate weave of their innovative products, reminiscent of the fabric patterns in their elastic bandage, Elascot, which has been on the market for over 60 years. This design emphasizes the interconnectedness of Alcare, its stakeholders, and the employees working within.

Message from President Katsumi Ito

Katsumi Ito, the President of Alcare, expresses deep gratitude to healthcare professionals, patients, partner companies, educational and research institutions, and the community for their support that has made reaching the 70th anniversary possible. He states, “Our vision is to make ‘nursing that cares for people the world standard.’ We have launched a growth strategy aimed at becoming a century-old company within the next 30 years.” This vision embodies the company’s commitment to creating products, technologies, and services that ease the burden on medical staff while enhancing the comfort and quality of life for patients.

Ito highlights the increasing issues in an aging society, stressing that the challenges faced by healthcare systems are escalating not just in Japan but across Asia as populations age rapidly. He recognizes that addressing these arising challenges requires collaboration among various sectors, including healthcare institutions, communities, government, and other industries. Alcare endeavors to share its unique value of “nursing that cares for people” with all stakeholders to continue improving the quality of nursing care and to meet the challenges that lie ahead in the global medical landscape.
