Embrace the Spirit of Shikoku at 'THE CRAFT SAKE 銘酒で乾杯 四国編'

On June 13, 2026, Shibuya will be transformed into a haven for sake enthusiasts with the launch of the tasting event 'THE CRAFT SAKE 銘酒で乾杯 四国編.' Organized by Japan Digital Service (JDS), this exciting affair celebrates the exquisite sake from the four prefectures of Shikoku, offering attendees a chance to indulge in a variety of local alcoholic beverages, including sake, gin, whisky, beer, shochu, and umeshu.

A Unique Tasting Experience

Held at the Shibuya Cast Space Garden, this tasting event is more than just a chance to enjoy your drink; it's an immersive experience. Attendees will have a 90-minute all-you-can-drink session, allowing you to explore the rich and diverse flavors that Shikoku has to offer. An impressive large screen will showcase episodes from the original satonoka program, 'THE CRAFT SAKE地域の銘酒を訪ねて~四国編~,' inviting you to discover the stories behind each brew, the craftsmanship involved, and the culture of the land.

Meet the Makers

The event will feature participation from ten sake breweries that have been introduced in the satonoka series, along with recommendations from each brewery. It’s a rare opportunity to not only taste these brands but also to meet the craftsmen and women behind these exquisite beverages, creating an intimate atmosphere for interaction and learning.

A Showcase of Shikoku's Best

In addition to the tasting event, there will be a free marketplace located next to the event area, showcasing not just Shikoku's alcoholic offerings but also regional delicacies from all four prefectures. Participating food trucks and booths will delight attendees with local produce and the opportunity to taste some of the beverages available at the tasting event itself. This marketplace aims to bring the flavors of Shikoku to the heart of the city, making it a focal point for community engagement and local pride.

The satonoka Project: Bridging Communities

The satonoka project, powered by JDS, aims to revitalize regional culture through enhanced storytelling and community engagement. This project harnesses the creativity and networks of local cable television operators to address regional challenges and promote the unique characteristics of the area. The sake tasting event embodies this mission by offering a platform for local producers to showcase their products and connect with urban audiences.

Discovering the Craft Sake Series

The 'THE CRAFT SAKE' program is a satonoka original content series aimed at promoting local products. The Shikoku series is the third installment following installments on Shinshu and Ishikawa and was developed in collaboration with six local cable television operators from Shikoku precludes.

As an additional treat, on the same day as the event at 7 PM, all ten episodes of the Craft Sake series will air back-to-back on satonoka 4K/TV, offering a perfect complement to the live experience of the tasting event.
