Tongji University Achieves Historic 8th Place in FT 2025 Ranking
On September 8, 2025, the Financial Times released its Global Master in Management ranking for 2025, featuring significant news for Tongji University’s School of Economics and Management (Tongji SEM). This prestigious institution has achieved a remarkable breakthrough, securing the
8th position worldwide—its first entry into the top ten list and maintaining its presence in the top 25 for four consecutive years.
This achievement highlights Tongji SEM's excellence in key performance indicators, particularly achieving the
top rank in the value for money category. Notably, 100% of its graduates have found employment within three months after completing their studies, demonstrating the program's effectiveness in career preparation. The university also ranked
13th in career services and
14th in career progression. Almost 90% of students reported that they met their academic objectives, including enhancement of management skills and broadening of global perspectives.
The recent success can be attributed to several factors: a robust international focus, hands-on education, and a commitment to integrating ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) issues into its curriculum. The program is taught in English and boasts a diverse student body, allowing for rich intercultural exchanges and learning experiences. Notably, Tongji SEM has partnered with over
100 top business schools across more than 30 countries, offering a variety of international exchange programs including dual degree options, semester exchanges, and summer schools abroad. Each year, there are over
300 opportunities available for students to study abroad.
In a bid to enhance its global educational footprint, Tongji SEM inaugurated its first overseas campus in
Berlin in 2024. This strategic move not only strengthens its international network but also allows students to cultivate a global mindset while pursuing their studies. Furthermore, the launch of the
IPAL (Innovative Practice Action Learning) project has fostered collaboration with industry giants such as
JD Digits Industrial, YTO Express, and
Transsion Holdings, bolstering the innovative capacities of students and their problem-solving skills.
The leap in the rankings signals Tongji SEM's unwavering commitment to delivering student-centered, high-quality education. It echoes the school's mission to nurture management talents who are well-versed in Chinese business practices while being prepared for global leadership roles. Accredited by esteemed organizations such as
AACSB, EQUIS, and
CAMEA, Tongji SEM continues to focus on cultivating globally competitive talent and fostering international cooperation. It aims to serve as a bridge between China and the world in the field of business education.
Tongji University's rise in the Financial Times Global Master in Management ranking showcases its commitment to excellence in education and its pivotal role in shaping future leaders.
